Reminds me of the intro animation BBC did for the 2008 Summer Olympics. They did a collab with Gorillaz and it was themed to Journey to the West and it was really cool as they journeyed to the Bird's Nest. I'm also glad Lego made a theme regarding Journey to the West called "Monkie Kid" as it gives the iconic tale a new flavor so to speak

I’m impressed you went to all the trouble of dressing up. Very well done. I remember as a kid in the 80’s watching “ Monkey Magic “ which was a Japanese tv series based on Journey to the west. Loved the show as a kid. I can understand why it’s so popular with the Chinese
Journey to the West is from China. It is one of the four great classical novels of ancient China

I want to clarify something. Yaoguai and demons are not the same. Yaoguai are more like animal spirits who gain the opportunity to practice Dao and thus evolve into higher-level beings. They possess magical abilities and human intelligence, but they lack the wisdom corresponding to their powers. In traditional Chinese culture, Yaoguai are powerful and cunning, but they have no compassion for humans and retain some animalistic traits, such as eating people. They are not bound by secular morals, which makes them dangerous. However, in many Chinese literary works, like ''Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio'', some Yaoguai are very kind. They seek higher wisdom, hope to evolve through Dao, and can even fall in love with humans. Like small animals, they don't discriminate based on status or wealth. Once a Yaoguai falls in love with a person, they are very loyal. But many of these stories end tragically due to human prejudice.

Even in this simplified version of the story, one must wonder, how da hell there are so many monsters that are the lost pets or mounts of some gods. Somehow when the gods lost their pets, they were lost for decades or even centuries causing problems. It's almost like they were sent by someone on purpose to cause problems.

Why your 觀音菩薩 Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara looks like Chang'e 嫦娥, the Chinese version of moon deity???
I love China and my Wife is Chinese, but out of all the tv versions and Movies about Monkey. The Japanese version from the 70's reins supreme. Although the Jet Li and Jackie Chan movie was pretty cool.
