Regarding to Zhu bajie, he was a general in celestial court, he got punished by the celestial emperor to reincarnated into a pig, after he sexual harassment other female member of celestial court member. BTW this female is also very famous in China, she is called ChangEr, which people believe she lives on the Moon. That is why the recent Chinese Moon exploration program was named after ChangEr (嫦娥）.

Mate it's not a big surprise that most people around the world don't know about the Journey to the West novel when most of its adaptations are in Chinese not to mention Goku only used the nimbus cloud and his staff was only in the first series when he was a kid. Like how thor killed all the frost giants, and how both Baldur and Thor knocked out Jormungandr. The same Thor and Baldur that Kratos beat, so it's not like he's nerfed or anything it's just a direction issue, they don't want us to have those big fights which is such a shame.
