No it's because up to the run up into the 'good ending' the character you play as keep being referred and treated as mere tools and the good ending did not give the players the salvation they're hoping like maybe accepted as one of Adler's own. Instead in the bad ending you get to get back against people that used you and Perseus treated you as an ally instead of outsider or tools. In a way Activision betrayed the players in the good ending while giving the players exactly what they wanted in the bad ending.

The Treyarch team missed a golden opportunity with this ending. So here's my version of events. Assuming the player (Bell) has completed all side missions, including decrypting the floppy disk and identifying all the suspects, and is able to contact Perseus for the ambush, this unlocks a third option in the Evil Ending. Perseus: "I think you deserve this moment, Comrade." Bell: (hesitates about pushing the button) "This is wrong, sir." P: "Wrong?" B: "How many innocent people will we kill? How many will die because of us? Because of the CIA? Because of this whole shitstorm?" P: "You've been with the Americans too long Comrade; remember what we are fighting for." B: "Don't you see, we won. Adler and his team are dead. The only others who know the truth are the CIA agents involved. We don't *need* to detonate the nukes, that damage has already been done." P: "What do you..." B: (activates radio) "Stand down until further notice, the nukes are not to be launched." P: "What do you think you are doing?!" B: "All Adler wanted was to kill you and your team, and if it took hijacking me to do it, does that make him better than you? No. I won't help him defeat the motherland; but he did have one thing right, I won't allow mindless killing when there is a better solution available." (holds up the radio for emphasis) P: "...Oh. (chuckles softly as screen fades to black) [Radio]: In a stunning turn of events, Soviet forces have foiled an American plot to detonate American nuclear warheads across Europe and Western Asian territories. This is the first Black Ops game I picked up, and it was originally to play zombies with friends. I ended up trying the campaign and I loved it. Also helped that you had some control over what you chose to do with the ending instead of "be the good guy!" spiel that usually happens. Wish they make this kind of choice more in the future games where you can kill established characters in the campaign. Like in MW, you are a recruit, you are a spy, in the end, you can choose to side with your new allies or to the group you swore allegiance with.
