Angela hasn't won because there is still major bias with black people winning the Oscars. Don't get me wrong, it has gotten better than before, but still the bias is real. It is truly sad but reality. This is one of the reasons why there is so much riding high with this film. It is a first on many things, first black director for a comic book film. First female cimetogropher, and other things that make it a first of it's kind. So I'm hoping the hype is real. I have been following the film since the first trailer. I remember seeing black panther in civil war having no idea about who He was. I just thought woah!!!! This guy is awesome! Fighting styles, bullet proof suit and just how Clint shot him with a arrow and he just got up and ate it, like is that the best you can do? Lol so I'm excited for this film.

the academy awards are just another popularity contest. the winners reflect the tastes of the people who are allowed to vote. there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but we shouldn't pretend they're worth any more than they are. they're not meritocratic.

Good Life/James Brown Angela should've had the role over Halle in the X-Men series but Halle, much as I respect her, was just the popular pick for the time. Crazy to think we could've had this Black Panther movie with her as Storm and Wesley Snipes as T'Challa thirty years ago (special effects wouldn't have been as good though so I'm happy lol!)

I read that Angela was originally offered the role of Storm, but turned it down. That's when they turned to Halle. But I can't blame Angela. Comic movies were trash back then, with the one exception of Blade.

Tommy Williams Not taking it away from her but her performance on the character although classic now wasn't that great and the long hair detract from her looks it wasn't until the last stand and days of future past I liked her look more but the first X-Men movie I couldn't stand it. Angela the voice and presence just seem more fitting he'll she could have played an older storm or mother but black panther changed that possibility.

It was so refreshing to see Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker on screen together. Black Panther had it all. One of the best movies I have ever seen. I truly enjoyed it. Marvel Studios/Disney did it right by giving the movie the right advantage to be competitive in the marketplace, and as a result, it has super exceeded all expectations.
