I remember being so hyped to see Black Panther, and while watching it I had my muscles tensed and I held my breath the entire time because it was just that touching and amazing and it had a true meaning to me especially as a young black London born girl, who is highly influenced by what I see going on around me and on social media platforms. Of course, I didn't realise how tense I was until after the movie finished and my breathing restarted and I sank back into my chair when I let go of muscles since I was sitting at the edge of my seat. This movie has really had an impact on me😂 And lastly, why are all the cast members of this movie so gorgeous. How did they manage to do that? Just found all the good-looking actors and actresses and said "Okay, lights, camera, action!"
@namco0037 жыл бұрын
NaabiiKnowzz Are your parents from Africa. I notice a lot of British black people stem from African roots, but it's easier to notice, because your family name wasn't whitewashed, like here in America. I have African roots i'm sure, but my family has been here for 100 or so years. If you, living in London, have African parents, did you see the movie with them, or are you planning on at least seeing it with them. I have some friends that are descendant from Africa, via parents and am just curious how African parents see the movie.
@nanaasante93106 жыл бұрын
namco003 Sorry for the month later reply 😂 But yes my family do come from mainly Africa, particularly Ghana, West Africa but they do give me a chance to experience my culture again every few years when we travel abroad to Africa. It is the most refreshing and liberating thing going to Africa because everything is so organic and self made. Where my parents are from, people do everything and figure things on their own, no machines, no shortcuts. My family got really hyped about Black Panther too and were so proud to see Africa represented like that.
@nanaasante93106 жыл бұрын
namco003 And here in London, it's mostly Caribbeans that have "whitewashed" surnames but most Africans have straight up African surnames and sometimes even first names (like me) where when you see them you instantly know what African country they or their family come from because the ancestry is so close.
