There were so many messages for mankind...to improve the human condition. As an AA, I've ALWAYS been proud of my African heritage. I hope this movie will help change the negativity portrayal of Africa, and the majority of people will now develop an appreciation for the cradle of civilization through Wakanda (especially Black Americans).

Powerful! I have shared with my people, and on a small scale, other nationalities that this has been the "disconnect", and challenge for my people in this country...and they canNOT fix that."They" did NOT bring "slaves" to this country, they brought a spiritual, prestigious, intelligent, moral people here and BROKE them to MAKE them slaves..."trespassers among the human race"! That "breaking" not only replaced our history, heritage, and culture with chattel slavery, it completely destroyed it; and what they created in its place has been passed down from generation to generation. That could not be changed by saying "you are free" because it is not OUR freedom...it is "their" idea of freedom, which "they" always feel they "allow" us to have. They say we are "free" however they stripped us of our "nationality" and the pride that comes along with that so we have nothing to build upon but what they replaced it with.Then they wonder WHY are people are still challenged...smh!The reaction from the interviewer when they went "deep" is WHY the ancestors of those who enslaved can not assist un in IDENTITY...their comments went right over his head...smh! And his response was to change the topic...

Through all of the questions he answered with all that he can knowing his future 🙏🏿..... Every time I see him I can feel his spirit knowing that I would never meet him .... There’s a lot about Chadwick Aaron Boseman that was very special in this life and his transition in to the next life...😭😭🙏🏿🥀💜😇 I love you Chadwick you are my adopted SON ☮️😇💜🥀

MBJ looks like he looked up to Chadwick.. I think in a way most people did. He was a genuine hero imo... hero to many types of people.. especially black people, cancer patients, and kids... my father died months before he died from cancer.. and my father handled it exactly how Chadwick did, he didn't want to talk to family/friends about it, he wanted to be alone with us. Chadwicks death hit me like a freight train after losing my father.. it still bothers me. It bothers me they made black panther 2 killing him off. He deserved to live on, his spirit, and be replaced with an actor. NOT killed off, and replaced by his lame sister. who was there for comedic relief lol I rather them figure out some way for MBJ to take over rather her lol. RIp Chadwick you're one of the GOATS.

16:34 - If you want to know how 'in sync' black people can be...LOL Watching all of these cast members' interviews is so much fun and I love their energy. I can't wait to see the movie again, this time in my home theatre because I want to dissect everything and really enjoy it! Talking Point: Did anyone else not think that the women warriors were a big deal? I swear, when looking at the movie, I didn't think twice about the women warriors. It just seemed normal to me. I didn't even notice it until I saw the interviews and people talking about it. One of the beautiful things about African culture is that the women have a place and their place is not usually challenged. They are seen as strong nurturing protectors of their families. The warrior women made sense to me in the context...had they been another culture, I may have noticed it... What do you think?

I'm too European American to comment on their cultural identity, but I love Chadwick's delivery. He's got this soliloquy, where he doesn't address the camera, nor the characters themselves, but you can see him withdraw into himself. In Civil War, "The mantle of the Black Panther..." In the van, after he got captured with Captain America/Falcon? Then, he asks Cap "How long do you think you can protect your friend from Me?" Powerful, and unique. I've never seen anyone transition from Soliloquy to Dialog quite this way, and he does it repeatedly. Talking to Black Widow, after the bombing. There's many many more examples, but it's fantastic.
@Psiberzerker6 жыл бұрын
Incidentally, my favorite Avenger (In the MCU) is Falcon. Okay, and Black Widow, but in terms of Cultural Representation? The first African American superhero, that didn't have Black in his name, working alongside (Especially in CA: TWS) a Russian Double Agent, with Black in her name. IDK if you can call that Cultural Appropriation or not, but just think it's nice. That African American doesn't necessarily mean Black. (A color, or lack of color with negative connotations. White isn't a color, it's All of the colors.) That allows for a lot more nuance in the characterizations. It's PART of the social archetypes associated with African Americans, but it's not Just "Black Africa."

Uhhh. I honestly got the vibe he saw it, and realized the underlying conversation that was happening. It had less to do with race, and more to do with relationship dynamics between African Americans, and Continental Africans. I think he was eager to hear their opinion on it, but it's too soon for them to divulge. That's the eagerness I get from it, bc I'm honestly in the same boat. I want to hear what they have to honestly say about that convo. Bc its a large part of the movie
@margaretfinny95606 жыл бұрын
Man I typed a whole long thing and then deleted it! I'll give you the cliff notes of my original reply: -Yes, the cast (which is made up of black Europeans, Americans, South Americans, Caribbeans, and Africans) is definitely aware of the dynamic of AAs & continental Africans presented in the movie and I believe Daniel addressed it (optimistically) in a more recent interview. -I'm of the mind that the ideal relationship between all Africans of the diaspora would be celebrating our differences, the distinct cultures that developed in the time following dispersal like the branches of a tree, while recognizing the strength that comes from our common root. We are not each others enemy. When African descended people *anywhere* thrive, it impacts positively on all of us even if the reverberations are dulled over distance, socio-economic station, and unique social challenges. -As someone who is a continental African yet spent a significant part of my formative years stateside and remain here, I am also aware of the fact that some AAs to this day feel they were betrayed by "those left behind" (though I don't know how widespread this sentiment is, every AA I've ever met was eager to reconnect with their African culture when given the opportunity). Lingering bitterness is completely understandable, because unfortunately, divide, conquer & sell out your brother was a devastatingly effective technique used by slavers, colonists and imperialists. However, if we continue to divide ourselves, we are only reaping the fruits of the poisonous seeds our oppressors sowed. You didn't ask for alladat, but there it is. Peace.

I've seen 2 Ryan Coogler films, so far (BP and Creed), I would definitely be curious if he directed a film for the Star Wars franchise, but they'd probably have to work out something with his Marvel contract first, since it's all but a lock that there will definitely be a Black Panther sequel, so I'm hoping we see more of Coogler's work in any capacity in either franchise.

I’m white male in my 60’s and thought this man glowed enlightenment He was evolved. I have two friends both colon cancer survivers and black under 40 and also both very special human beings ( as we all are) when I heard of chadwicks death from something so close to home it really shook me. It should not shock it’s extremely prevalent among black YOUNG males but rarely discussed . Chadwick saw it as personal issue which was his choice and right . Their was something about him you did not need to be black to feel most know him from black panther but he made other epics ( ie a message from the king ) where he through his talent portrayed a really important message consistently . That message well that’s yours to find . A great loss but a spirit like his does not just fade into the abiss . Awards trophies get dusty his memory will be fresh forever .
