Golfing too slowly ??? Is that even a thing ?
@Misierbobo6 жыл бұрын
Jean Roch Pretty much. There are Golf marshals who monitor the overall pace of the game. If you're taking too long or you are in a larger group, good etiquette dictates that you let the players waiting behind you move along. My guess is things must have escalated when they were asked to speed things up or let the other players pass ahead of them.
@strikevince146 жыл бұрын
check the story before you speak. they did nothing wrong, it was an excuse to call the police
@Misierbobo6 жыл бұрын
Vincent Reich I'm not saying they are to be blamed. I was merely stating there is such a thing as golfing too slowly and it is usually the cause of some friction amongst different group of golfers.
@wendyp84886 жыл бұрын
Misierbobo your guess is completely incorrect making your post worthless
@Misierbobo6 жыл бұрын
Wendy P Guesses tend to be incorrect. To be clear, golfing too slowly is a common complaint. What is unheard of is calling the police over that. Most golfers tend to resolve this non issue amicably among themselves. Again at no point am I saying that the women are responsible.

ok just change the "someone's dorm" to "dorms common room" there, still the same effect.
@anujmchitale6 жыл бұрын
Even if it's a common room or a personal room, calling cops directly before even trying to wake up the person just shows how afraid and pathetic the person is. Yes I use the word "pathetic" with good thought. Legal systems serve their purpose but not trying to take care of the situation at the most primary level, is indeed pathetic. The excuse used will be, "What if the sleeping person had a gun?". This logic can apply to any random person on the street. So are you gonna call the cops on each of them. And it turns out US cops shoot and pull out guns for any bs reason. So are you gonna call the cops on cops? LOL.

As a black man (Nigerian), I can say without a stutter that prejudice is a human condition. There really is no US vs THEM. Bias is ubiquitous, it's everywhere through time. There are no blameless good guys. Police brutality, sexism, racism, xenophobia, tribalism, antisemiticm religious killings etc all stem from the same condition, prejudice. The sooner we all start seeing the bigger picture, and attempting to recognize the grander problem rather than pitch camps when it's convenient to fit a growing rhetoric or appear the sinless the victim, the better for humanity.
@zafan32806 жыл бұрын
However it seems that prejudice has been profitable to a certain race in a rather skewed fashion. So evidence suggests otherwise
@nihilisticnegro42196 жыл бұрын
An holistic assessment would reveal prejudice is actually favors the majority and/or more powerful & as an extension, has the minority and/or less powerful as it primary sufferers. The whites are the majority in America, other monorities are naturally more likey to suffer from racism. It isn't necessarily a white-people problem. This is true of predominantly Black, Muslim , Christian , Patriarchal societies etc where whichever race, faction, tribe, religious group, gender, cult is the minority (and/ less powerful) is the likely to suffer. The recent Myanmar crisis is testament to this. It's been around since the beginning of time.

@cherchehacknostale6 жыл бұрын
Camillia Stomsvic Expell for having bias and being scared ? Too harsh don't you think ? Expelling her won't change anything to her view of thinking and the university might have lost a great student. I think she just should have a week of racism awareness and explain why she was feeling this way + excuses
@nidaa11796 жыл бұрын
laura vigne I think its more important to be a good person than a great student and racist. Racism should not be excused. Maybe expelled is too harsh but she certainly deserved a suspension.
@cherchehacknostale6 жыл бұрын
Nidaa Ahmad Of course it's important to be a good person. University is where you learn to grow as an adult, you learn which values you deeply care about and know yourself better. Do you really think that by giving her a suspension it would change her behaviour ? We need to talk to her, make her aware of the racism black people face everyday and know why she acted that way and maybe it will change her view on black people. I don't think that giving a sanction without teaching is a good solution. It's like punishing a kid, not make him understand what he did wrong but just saying "it's bad".
@scropi10006 жыл бұрын
But she isn't a kid she is an active member of society at the doors of adulthood I don't consider someone legally able to drive and drink a child, her actions led to an oblivious innocent person to be terrified, treated badly, put in handcuffs for the colour of her skin this isn't lack of judgement this is textbook racism and I didn't mean only this case every other story reported nothing happened, if people were held accountable for their actions the shackles of white supremacy would be tightened even if it is superficial but it would stop these poor young men and women for living such experience, Nina Simone once said " the worst thing about this kind of prejudice is that while you feel hurt and angry and all the rest of it, it feeds your self doubt. You start thinking perhaps I am not good enough." I am certain that girt is just as much worthy as any body else.
@alanomaly6 жыл бұрын
laura vigne I don't know about the US but in many countries "wasting police time" is a crime, as is making hoax emergency calls. She made a malicious emergency call when there was no emergency, to get someone in trouble. I'd hope she was prosecuted the same as someone who makes a fake emergency call to, say, get their ex in trouble.

Watching the original video... Its not the fault of the campus police, they were called and had to respond, as they aren't psychic they had no idea who was in the building or whether they were meant to be on campus... Now the student on the other hand who gave the report is a is probably unstable or a racist, but they couldn't know that OR ignore the call. Lolade Siyonbola the student (sleeping on a common room couch with the lights off while somehow working on a paper) initially refused to give ID in the video she is being unhelpful, belligerent, and evasive pointlessly escalating the situation, all the campus police needed to do was verify she was a student and meant to be there. There were problems with her ID, and dispatch had trouble locating her student ID again not really the fault of the campus police but a clerical error. Watching the video of the incident the police were calm, polite, professional and respectful. So how do you think the situation should be handled...? 'Is that campus police? There is someone sleeping in the building...' 'Are they a person of colour?' 'Uh?... Yeah...' 'Well they probably have every right to be there'
