Little fun fact: the soldiers were given meth, in the form of a pill and were told they were vitamins. This enabled them to march for days and their cruelty knew no bounds. Not sure what happened to these men when the war was over, they were sent home and were immediately cut off of the drug. Don't think there was rehab back then. Very sad.

While there may have been supporters, there were a lot that had no choice but to become nazi soliders, it was kill or be killed. There is a movie called Swing Kids that shows the dilemma of the young back then, it's excellent and you really feel the impossible situation they were in.
