Wow, I've never heard of this tragedy before. It's a hard fact that schools don't even scratch the surface of what happened to Black and Native people. The details are so harsh you want to think those things never really happened. I had one teacher who did go into details, and I heard things I wish I'd never known.

Idk if its been scrubbed or what but I've been looking on yt and can't find the video that acknowledges Black people were used as levees and 10's of thousands died during this hurricane.
