Great recommendations! I’ve been trying to find more romance focused on Black women… adds all to Amazon cart 😂

Let me know what you think! There are other authors I haven’t read yet, but I’d love to do a video on them to shout them out. That could be a next week video!

I need to read more Alexandria House. I read Let Me Love You and I did enjoy myself. JL Seegars is another one I want to try because I heard it’s so emotional!

I’m all for seeing Black women loved by whoever, but it’s important to differentiate Black love from Interracial/multicultural love because of history and people’s biases. Black romance is only recently getting the respect that it deserves and a lot of people will use interracial/multicultural as a way to erase Black people loving each other. Traditional publishing does this a lot. They would rather pick up interracial or multicultural by a non Black author for xyz reason but still label it Black love to be included on lists. There’s also just the history of Black American people not even being allowed to marry each other, etc. Like I said, I’m all for Black women being loved on by whoever but we should still label the romances correctly.

Good point! I think with a lot of interracial romances it considers Black man with someone of a different race (mainly white) and any other minority women with a white man. Maybe differentiating Black romance and an option that promotes Black women with a LI of other races/ ethnicities. Not sure what it would be called but something that lets readers know that the FMC is a black woman.
