I went to court and people assumed I was an attorney. White, middle age, and in a suit. Of course I was not, and I recognized right away that, in general, I was treated better or differently than if people, especially cops, may that assumption. Because, I’ve also been in the situation where the ‘justice system’ assumed I was “the criminal,” or in this case a “defendant.” To have to prove yourself just because ur black? Man.

I went to court dressed well they ask if I was the defendant I reply yes ,,,,,I do not choose to give labels to the person that asked me ,,,,
