It's unique, not the best but it's him, no one else did it that way at the time he was kind of a revolutionary in comparation with their contemporary guitarists, as hendrix or Santana developed grate styles, Michael Romeo just beats them for far, but he can't be at the same level of the simple but percisley style of geezer, he just makes it simple but rare, it's like he's chilling while making love to the guitar, we can't compere him ti bb king or zappa or any other guitarist because there's no common ground, his style was si unique that is his own self through the chords, he take it to the grave, wherever he is, there's goooood music

@Micktaylorify Жыл бұрын
I agree, Bill Ward is an absolute LEGEND!! However, to be fair, in a founding band unless you are the lead singer or one of those absolutely irreplaceable musicians, like Iommi or Keith Richards or Geddy Lee, nobody is irreplaceable. I was at the 13 tour in Toronto, centre floor, and I can safely say that Tommy Clufetos was MORE than adequate as a replacement for Ward. Of course, I would have like to have seen Ward myself, but 3 quarters of a dollar is better than nothing. Plus there was legit rumours that Ward’s health was declining back then. Being a drummer is the most physically taxing of all musicians and you need to be on your game.

Something that I feel particularly stands out about Sabbath is that both Iommi and Butler both play relatively softly - just look at how Tony picks those thundering riffs, not with insanely heavy gauge strings or with 7+ string guitars but with a light touch. Butler is also relatively rare in that he doesn't use a pick which seems ubiquitous in modern metal music. (Apart from Bill Ward - he's always beat the drums so ferociously it's almost like he wants to kill them!)
