Black Sabbath is one of the greatest ever. But once again, all Ozzy does is sing. He doesn't write the music or the lyrics. The lyrics are all from the bassist, Geezer Butler.
@sayrerowan734
@sayrerowan734 4 жыл бұрын
@mark white, no, you're mistaken. Ozzy would at most come up with the vocal melody, and sometimes a line or two. He would scat random lyrics as the band worked the song up, and sometimes a word or phrase would become the song title, as Crazy Train did in his solo band (Bob Daisley used that and wrote the lyrics around it). That's it, that's all Ozzy did, besides play a little harmonica. Tony wrote most of the music, and Geezer the lyrics.

Probably one of the most brutally honest descriptions of a veteran's trauma and drug addiction. Sabbath never pulled punches. Although rooted in the Blues, Sabbath also had some Jazz influences, which are plainly evident in the main groove of this song. Abracadabra, great choice and great reaction!

That was really a beautiful reaction! I'll come back! Ozzy, Fuck Yeah! What I immediately like about this video. Your name, Abracadabra. Your logo on the left. Your attitude. You're outside and you look comfortable and relaxed. I'm going to quote you, "He say a certain line, then he just go up". You noticed the distinct sections in this song. I think this might be my new favorite Black Sabbath song. I feel you man. You decided to highlight certain lyrics, nice. Let me say a few other things. Maybe you know Ozzy had serious drug problems. Cocaine is probably number one. In 1975, right after Vietnam ended and NIXON was impeached, Black Sabbath ruled the fucking world. Giant bowls full of Coke, wall to wall twat. What am I trying say? There's only one Black Sabbath. Only one Ozzy. Never to be repeated. And Ozzy can survive anything! If that was unclear, I'm a HUGH fan of Black Sabbath! Just in case you're not aware, that snake in your logo is an ouroboros. It consumes itself. Something like that. I like your attitude and commitment. In my initial reaction, quote you again, "That's a dark tale...over a perfect piece of music". I completely agree. I can't put it into words, but I completely understand. Your sincerity, your passion is very inspiring. My opinion, Led Zeppelin was my first love. Black Sabbath is really hard core, really original. I just stumbled upon your channel. You hit the bullseye when you said War Pigs, Fairies wear boots. Your sincerity and passion speak volumes! I mentioned the Ouroboros, I noticed the Eye of Horus, the 303 I don't understand. You inspired me to look up 303. I think I understand. Angel 303. Peace and harmony. Stay strong Bro. Spread love, not hate! I have to comment! Something actually hit you in the head! I thought you were full of shit! I'm sorry man. You're honesty is so great! Fuck yeah!

Basically if you want to get with a girl or escape into the mystical listen to Zeppelin every time, they are unmatched in the musical boundries they broke as a 4 piece. if you want to examine some dark points in the human psyche then the first 6 albums of Sabbath will darken your day in the most wonderful way.

All bands build on influences from various genres of music that came before. Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi had influences. Bill Ward’s drumming - as has been previously mentioned - has jazz influences. Iommi’a guitar playing has blues influences as well ( many of the great British guitar greats do). What Iommi added was the darkness- his innovation was that dark heaviness and Ozzy’s voice worked perfectly to further set that mood. You don’t have to be devoid of influences to be considered innovators. And Sabbath certainly were innovators - arguably the inventors of metal music. Led Zeppelin we’re heavily influenced by the blues. Doesn’t mean they weren’t an absolutely stellar band- because they most certainly were among the very best. Thankfully, you don’t have to pick or choose. You can enjoy them all. Each for their own unique merits- which happens to be incredible musicianship and creativity.

Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath???? Hold your answer until you check out The Who. And by the way Abra, you're incredible.

That was a great reaction to a great song. You don't have to choose Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin they both great bands. Don't forget Pink Floyd and check out Grand Funk Railroad on your tour of the 70s. I'll re-enjoy the ride with you .WWG1WGA

Black Sabbath - The Mob Rules. The whole Paranoid album is worth listening to. It was my bed time music for years.

Choosing between BS and LZ is near impossible both bands had legends from top to bottom. Who is a better singer, Plant or Ozzie/Dio, who was a better guitarist the improvisional Page or the riff master Iomi, how can you say Butler or JPJ was better on bass, Bonham vs Ward? Lets just call it a tie all the way around.

Love Zeppelin they're incredible but Sabbath just hits me just right. I envy anybody starting the Sabbath experience. There are so many great songs to go for you

its funny because your star is similar to what Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult would have done back in the day. Both of whom toured together for an epic show ! " The Black and Blue Tour"

That was my very first concert, so I remember it like it was yesterday. The crowd was a sea of denim, and provided the smoke for the stage. Everyone for a 3 block radius was stoned.

No question SABBATH. They told tales of facts. Dark but true facts non the less, if you really listened to the lyrics there was truth there in the times politics and in life. Zeppelin sounded ok but it was childish in thought.

They were working class poor ass guys from Birmingham England... Ozzy would say that early in the bands career that he would have to wait for his buddy to come home so he could borrow his shoes to go out.

So yeah my super dude I was lucky enough to be able to grow up with this music man I was just barely a teenager we were digging this shit wow you know the ironic thing is Ozzy Osbourne was inspired to do music because he was such a big fan of The Beatles can you imagine that see there's is so much more different than the Beatles And I remember there's a film of him needing Paul McCartney and Ozzy was just so humbled and just Starstruck and Paul was just really nice to him and everything so that was cool but I was lucky enough to see Black Sabbath at the fabulous forum in Inglewood California anyhow yeah they had another band playing with him named yes I mean I've never heard of them before but when I first heard that I was like all over it you know you know the guitarist I think his name is Tommy Iommi anyhow you know you realize talk about inspiration because most people when they have limitations they just give up and don't do anything but you realize he was a butcher at a grocery store and unfortunately he cut off three tips of three of his fingers and he always wanted to learn how to play guitar but instead of just saying I will I can't do it now he was so determined he got Prosthetics made for those three fingers and he learned how to play guitar and the rest is history because he created such great music the changed everything so much and had such a powerful influence hand and made such great music with Ozzy and keys are bunker and Burt Ward on bass I think yeah you should at least have the first four albums I'd stake my reputation on it you know the Phil titles of course you got paranoid then there's Masters of Reality and then volume four you should at least have those I guarantee you won't regret it alright big guy take care thanks for that reaction haven't heard that song in a long time damn was that a motherfuking switch up or what I mean comar that was just crazy sick fuckedupshit I love it I mean I loved it when I was a kid I know it's like having a song within a song and I'll music back in the 70s early 70s it was like there was no limitation just anything was possible you know even the late 60s same thing it just kept going and going and going you know there was a point where it kind of petered out unfortunately but that's a whole nother topic maybe I'll discuss that later so I'm not taking up too much space here alright big guy later on I'm outtie thanks again for another awesome reaction
