There is an interview in 1970 with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page being asked about the death of Jimi Hendrix which had accrued that day. Both Page and Plant were big fans of Jimi Hendrix. Still widely regarded as the best guitarist ever. Side note. Back when they were still kids the members of Zeppelin were deeply influenced by all the great blues players here in America. To me Zeppelin were the blues on steroids. There has not been a single band that has come close to them as far as influence goes they are the real deal

One of the great things I learned from Led Zeppelin as a young kid, that I noticed and appreciated from the great rock bands and all really great music really, pick your genre, is that the really good and great ones feed and play off of each other. Like jazz. Everyone reacts off of each other to create great musical art. Zep, for me showed me that. It's what made them so great and helped me learn what great music was as a kid. Like you said "musician magicians"

Since u are digging this tune so hard I gotta share this with you: Back in 94 I was 14 years old and sat down one day to watch Mtv and they had a "Led Zeppelin weekend". Up until that point I had only listened to pop music and never heard Led Zep. A live video to Dazed and confused came on and a beast was awoken in my soul! The power of it hit me on a whole new level and sent me into this new musical universe. In 95 Page and Plant went on a reunion tour and came to my city Stockholm. Of course I was the most fanatical fan of all, securing a spot foremost to the stage, literally having them right in front of me. And it all started with this song. Loved your reaction video!

Great reaction. You nailed it when you said that you would’ve loved to see Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page play together, because they’re generally considered to be the two greatest guitarists in history of rock. Both of them took the guitar to about as far as it could go as musical instrument. But Led Zeppelin wasn’t just Jimmy Page. All the members of the band were in the top 3 in their position in rock history. John Bonham is generally considered the best drummer in rock history, John Paul Jones is considered one of the top 2 or 3 bassists in history and Robert Plant one of the top vocalists in rock history. Basically an all star team of rock stars. For me, they’re the greatest rock band ever, and there will never be another band like them, ever.

Their secret was that they took the essential elements of blues and added there own brilliant musicianship. The fact is that they studied the early Afro-American blues style, itself an unselfconscious emotional appeal to one's empathy for the human condition - oppression. They always showed respect for the blues roots by never churning out blues songs as easily as they could have (like Status Quo themselves legendary ) Rather, their change ups elevated the genre without losing or hiding the original musical inspiration.
