I like this guy as an interviewer. I know some people who interview ozzy don't really chime in to the conversation and just let him rabble with out having anything to say. I like the balance of this interview cuz it didn't seem geezer was any less important than ozz.
@michaelstephen81910 жыл бұрын
The interviewer here actually digs a hole for himself then falls into it big time! He starts by making a big joke of how the 60s weren't receptive enough for lyrics like God is dead - then later he has to stop Ozzy from explaining that killing someone in war is the same as killing on the street. You still can't cope with the issues in Sabbath lyrics - but that's why I love Sabbath and not the media!
@madstylesnz9 жыл бұрын
Mick Jones You gotta admit Ozzy's got a point though. I had the same debate with my flatmate a little while ago, its quite an interesting argument, if a civilian murders somebody we treat them as a criminal to be despised yet as a soldier its like 'that's cool its your job'. Total double standard, soldiers are at the end of day just paid assassins i think.

Ha ha ha ha ha ozzy taking credit for writing a song now that's funny ozzy didn't write Fairies Wear boots I remember seeing an interview in the 80s where geezer talked about how that song came about. He said that ozzy had saw some skinheads wearing combat boots and of course ozzy thought they were stupid cause ozzy hates skinheads he always said they sucked. So geezer went on to say that ozzy came to band practice later that day and told the band that fairies wear boots and went on to explain how dumb they looked to the band and the song was born geezer wrote the lyrics while ozzy came up with the title and a few one liners. Ozzy never wrote or did much in sabbath watch the old interviews in the 1980s when he went solo he would mention how he never did much in sabbath and Randy was teaching him melodies and other stuff. I'm not making this up that's how I found out about ozzy not doing much or nothing at all in sabbath and his solo band I grew up in the 80s so I saw and heard all the interviews. Hey look I'm not bashing ozzy I love sabbath with ozzy although I love the dio stuff more and I love ozzys solo albums but the truth is the truth. That's why geezer looks so uncomfortable when ozzy says he wrote this and that it's cause geezer knows he lying. Ozzy comes up with song titles and a few one liners and that's about it. He let the truth out in all those interviews he did in the 80s and I respected him for that then he began lying in the 90s damn Sharon freaking devil. Dio rules
@vale_recca3 жыл бұрын

Painful to watch interviews of greats like Black Sabbath, conducted by people who don't seem to give 2 shits about the music or the musicians. Lame. Get a Sabbath fan to write the questions and ask them. Let the band give answers that are of interest to them, rather than trying to steer the interview. This stetile approach bores the band and i basically learn nothing. That interviewer is making money, it's a profession, I get it. But c'mon. It's so disingenuous. That's likely why the band members are often so disinterested. They've been doing these for decades. Yawwwn.
@schichter6 жыл бұрын

@@schichter You're a humble person, Matt. Thanks for not taking offense. I totally get it, and as a gig heck, who would say no! Being that your mindset is so open, i'm interested in checking out your other interviews. As a fan, I'd have probably fumbled the whole session. As a pro, you took a big step to hone your skills. I'm sure Black Sabbath could be quite surly if they chose to be, but they seem very gracious by choice. I once had a golden opportunity to meet one of my all time favorite illustrators in person. It was Robert Williams, he was at an exhibit of his, unannounced. He literally walked up to me and introduced himself to me. Here is this tremendous art hero of mine since childhood, saying hello and introducing himself to me. Would you believe that I said every stupid thing I could randomly muster. It was so horrible, it took all I had in me to keep my head up when I left the gallery. My one chance to say everything I ever wanted to say and thank him for all of the years of inspiration and escapism he gave me throughout my entire life, and I botched every word. This is life sometimes. I give you big props for not avoiding your opportunities and for going forward in your work. All the best to you. Thank you for your honest response. Cheers.
