Im a 61 year old drummer raised on Sab. People who don't play guitar don't know the hundreds to thousands of hours it tskes to condition your hands & fingers to play this hard yet smooth yet relaxed, bravo

Thanks very much! And you're right, it takes dedication for sure. I guess after 40 some odd years of playing, it begins to feel almost like second nature. That said, I can't imagine life without it. Cheers!

Wait, my fingers are fine, oh wait, I still can’t play guitar for sh’t, my 11 guitars look great on the wall, though. I was gonna donate them to my old high school but not one employee would drive the 4 miles to get them. So suck my balls Cheektowaga.

Great cover and thank you now i can finally rest my mind after i saw how you played the intro riff it has puzzled me a long time.

Thank you!! And you mean the very beginning riff?
@tomisalonen80298 ай бұрын
yes at the beginning those "D-shape chords"
8 ай бұрын
@@tomisalonen8029 Ah, right. I think what gives it that dissonant sound is that he mutes the high E string and lets the open D ring while moving the chord up and down. That's kinda what I hear anyway.

Damn…You tore that up! Phenomenal! Loved everything about it. You have the tone down. Beautiful guitar. You obviously know what you are doing so I have a question. It appears that Tony plays very simple rhythm while his lead work appears much more difficult! Is this true? I am in no way saying Tony’s rhythm playing is easy and if it is I don’t care. I love his playing! He has the best tone! He is in my top 5 favorite guitar players. Thank you and I really appreciate this cover! 🤘🤘🤘 🎸 🎸 🎸

Thank you very much for your nice comments - makes doing these worthwhile! As for your question, I wouldn't say his rhythm playing is easy, not at all. Compared to the technical ability and complexity of a lot of players today, the assumption could be made, but to effectively play Tony's stuff, it's all about the feel. And that's what you've gotta try to capture. These songs were written a long time ago, and I've been playing em for ages as well and I still have difficulty getting some of his chording and picking correct. He's got a unique style. Same applies to his lead work - he usually uses pentatonic and blues scales, but it's what he does with them that makes him the legend he is. Incredible feeling in every note.

Why the snarkiness in the second sentence, brother? Honestly it kinda negates the first one, which is complimentary. I never put down other players or claim I'm better than anyone; there's room for every player to grow and improve, even the biggest names in the biz will say that. I'd love to hear/see you play, and if I do I can promise you I won't denigrate you for any reason. It's not a contest my friend.

I've often thought that might be cool to do. I'm open to it depending on logistics - I'm in the Midwest; Milwaukee to be specific. I'd wanna do all the deep cuts that many Sab tributes don't. I 'spose I'd have to buy an SG, hahaha...
