The original lyrics actually went: Witches gather at black masses, Bodies burning in red ashes. The studio changed it up if i recall correctly

Ik its kinda goofy but i’ve always seen it as a play on words. “Generals gather in their masses” a bunch of generals gathering together. “Just like Witches at black masses” this time masses being like a church service.

Tony Iommi invented that style of playing which many blew off back in the day as being to fundamental. Thing is they were proven wrong as he has a unique sense of timing and plays lead guitar like no one else. The story of how he lost two of his fingertips on his fretting hand is just incredible. The thing is he he kept playing and I believe his style is heavily influenced by those missing fingertips. Let’s face, most of us would have hung it up that point. The fact that he didn’t, and became a very wealthy man after being raised in a government housing estate in Birmingham, England. Says a lot about the man’s character. Good tutorial!

With all due respect to Tony Iommi, the first solo is Page on an SG at 20:11. In '70' ? If I was playing? I'd be doing Page also. I'd say Tony is pretty happy he broke his Strat on the first Sabbath album after recording their first track and went to his second guitar for the rest of the album. I haven't seen him play his Strat since the '68' Jethro Tull performance. What would his sound be without an SG? Great Job Marty!! Thanks for posting!!

From the viewers point of view, it’s much more helpful for beginners if you hold steady tempo when teaching. 6:55 I know a half hour of repetition can get tiresome but drilling the tempo was the MOST important aspect when I was taught. Looking back, I am so grateful that fundamentals were prominent in each lesson
