Teach is Blackbeard. The Season 3 marketing was, top-to-bottom, all about how "Blackbeard is here he guys, we're putting him in the show!" He was basically the "Flint" of the previous generation of pirates, he still commands massive respect, that's why he gets treated well.

This is probably my favorite reaction series of you guys, I just love how into the show you are; it's one of my favorite shows ever, ranking higher than breaking bad for me personally, and I'm kinda sad it's so underrated or rather unnoticed since it starts as just a good show and gets better and better as the series progresses all the way to the end (although season 3 is my favorite)

@Lol Umad Max has told both Jack and Anne that even though she loves Anne and Anne loves her, she knows that in the end their lives will pull them in opposite directions. Max knows Jack and Anne are inseparable and are endgame, even if they don't. She knows Anne would choose Jack over her, and isn't upset by that fact. I see Max as being a pragmatist. I see her being like: "We will have this while we can, and enjoy it, but we both know we have an expiration date." Max has made no qualms about her ambitions. Anne knows this. Max is no more selfish than anyone else on this show about literal pirates, thieves, and murderers.

This show is basically AC:Black Flag - The show. All the characters you know, all the locations, the important events attributed to certain pirates... Also the very first shot of Nassau in S1E1 might as well be from the game. It blew my mind.

The reason why Teach was disappointed in Nassau is because he saw what the wealth was doing. He came from a time where if you wanted something, you took it by force. When people overcome shackles such as perception of the public and insecurities, it makes them strong, almost unstoppable, an alpha wolf of the pack. When you take a ship, you don't say please. Now he's seeing Nassau become lazy and content, which is making them sitting targets for their enemies. If the pirates were half as strong and fierce as Blackbeard, England and Spain wouldn't dare risk firing a shot because they'd be facing the tribulation of an entire horde of the most vicious and bloodthirsty pirates ever to sail the seas. Now the pirates of Nassau are practically no different than the people they rob; fat, lazy and content.
