Realistically, because the federal government shut the free money printer off in response to economic conditions, no one is looking to buy. If no one wants to buy, you can't sell. Better to just close the studios, realize the losses to offset some profits. Ultimately it's just very short term thinking.

The problem with companies, big ones at least they are never happy with selling 100 apples a day. The next month they need to sell 120, and then 140 and so on. Used to work for verizon doing support. And they wanted us pushing their insurance packages. Every month we would have positive sales numbers but if they were not X amount more than the last month they were considered a failure. Thats how all these companies work.

We spent the most time as Ezio, so he got the most development. Playing a character from young adult to old man leaves an impression. But personally I liked the Frye Twins, Shay from Rogue and Connor the most. Along side Ezio.

@@noahknight4039 Shay was great, Connor felt a little wooden but if I put myself in his shoes I’d be pretty stoic. Arno wasn’t bad either, and Bayak was also pretty good. I guess that’s the only criticism I accept, all other protagonists before weren’t actual historical figures. Yasuke would have been a great side character or played an integral role to the story, kind of like DaVinci did or Adewale did, but like it or not we’re talking about it as opposed to saying “oh wow, another Ac game *yawn*”

If Yasuke were a samurai, wouldn't he have had to spill his beans all over the floor for failing his lord? Would that not be a dereliction of his office, as that's expected of samurai in that time? Would that not bring infamy to his name then, mark him as an enemy to his house and the province within which he yet served? He was exiled dude also Nobunaga was known to frequently break traditional beliefs. He had many retainers. One was his shoe barrer who was later promoted to somewhat of a samurai. Yasuke was Nobunaga's sword barrier for a time who was then later given his very own retainers and a castle by Nobunaga. You don't do that for a lowly sword barrier. Yasuke and Nobunaga had a very close friendship as they frequently spoke about the outside world which very much intrigued Nobunaga. For Yasuke to have been given his very own personal Retainers and a his own Castle to live in say a whole lot about his status in that time period. You don't give something like that to just some lowly person. Regarding battles, He was in fact recorded in two battles, not one. The one you are referring to is the battle against Nobunaga's friend who betrayed him. Which was a battle that ended in Nobunaga commiting seppuku. Second was a battle where Yasuke sought out Nobunaga's son, they both fought together against the army that betrayed Nobunaga, but due to the small army they had, Nobunaga's son also fell in battle, and Yasuke was captured and given to the Jesuits. captured and given to the Jesuits. The third was a revenge battle where he surprisingly may have been present again. It was recorded that among the many troops was one black samurai fighting alongside the army to avenge Nobunaga. I think the people(not the racists) who dislike it is because of the revisionism. I did a report on Yasuke back in grade school and he was not a traditional Samurai like Jin Sakai. He was a retainer and personal bodyguard to Oda Nobunaga on account of him being huge and his dark skin leading people to believe he was akuma, or demon. He didn't go out on missions or fight in wars or anything like that. He was a Samurai Bodyguard, and Nioh does a great job of representing this. Now, after Nobunaga died, there is no historical account of what happened to Yasuke. It would be perfect if Ubisoft took advantage of this, however, I have a feeling that Ubisoft Quebec will ruin it by having Nobunaga be a quest giver instead of having him die at the beginning. Assassin's Creed is at its best when they make it historically accurate, but fill in gaps with fantastical elements, such as the historically corrupt Pope Rodrigo Borgia, or Washington's persecution of the Native's, or the relationships of all the pirates in the Caribbean. I hope they take advantage of the mysterious portion of Yasuke's life.

That's want makes no sense, I've seen and heard so many people try to argue about the game not being historically accurate, they never bring up the fact that the games itself has always had a disclaimer stating "this is a work of fiction" they're literally telling you that up front. They've constantly used real historical people in fantasy settings, like in assassin's creed brotherhood with da vinci making a tank for Ezio to drive in. Then when you explain that, they try to jump through hoops and say, well actually, we just wanted finally wanted to play as a Japanese person in Japan. I would completely understand their frustration if Yasuke was the only playable character, but you have TWO protagonist Naoe AND Yasuke. Naoe is literally the assassin character in the an assassin creed game. The main point of the game. The weirdest part, is that it feels like the majority of people crying over this videogame don't even seem like they're Japanese. Why do people suddenly think they're the voice of Japan!? Japanese studios have already depicted Yasuke in multiple forms of media, in Samurai Warriors 5, and multiple anime. I like a lot of media produced by Japan, but I know I'm not Japanese. Then they try to back peddle and bring up Ghost of Tsushima, the entire point of the game is show the perspective of a Japanese Samurai dealing with the mongol invasion that happened in the island of tsushima. That's the point of the game, assassin's creed has always been about using the animus to live through you ancestor's memories. If you want to play has a male Japanese lead, nothing is stopping them from playing that game, it's a great game. At the beginning of assassin's creed 3 no one cried about playing as Haytham Kenway a British guy in America before you even get connor who was half native. No one cried about playing as Edward Kenway, a Welsh man in the Caribbean. People don't even have the humility to admit they're wrong and where outraged because they saw a black man in the trailer and got triggered. I don't like to be that person, but the people whining just showed the real person coming out of them. When I first finished watching the assassin's creed shadow's trailer I kept saying, "where is the gameplay?" I figured that should be people's natural response, but when I went to the comments people where crying about yasuke. Where was all this energy when the Nioh games came out!? But people suddenly became outraged like a bunch of babies if an african man is 1 of the 2 main protagonist in the upcoming game. People aren't focusing on the real issues of the quest and 3 days early access being locked behind a paywall of either $109.99 or $129.99. They're not upset that they're telling people to preorder with no gameplay shown or the fact that Ubisoft said people should get used to not owning their games. I feel like people have brain rot, like the only thought they can process if being upset if they see a race they don't like in a videogame. These people crying about yasuke need to go outside and touch grass 😆

It's worrying how long development takes on triple A right now. How can a big publisher take any risks on something that needs to make 10's of millions to break even. But regarding the insane amount of job cuts, like everything it boils down to pleasing shareholders. Can't squeeze customers any more than they currently are, so the only way to guarantee profit growths is to cut costs. Both trends are detrimental to gaming.

The issue with yasuke is that he is heavily shoe horned in. I don't want to be represented by a clearly token character. i am a huge AC fan since years ago, around the time of AC3, so around 2010/2011 and i was hyped af when the AC3 released, i could not own a console back then because well, i am not made of money haha. the first AC title i actually tried was Revelations while i was in mexico at a local video game place where you pay for an hour to play any game you wanted. i looked at the catalog from the desk and i was like "OMG OMG Assassin's Creed i wanna play that one." i played it for an hour haha. yeah sucks that Shadows is not for PS4 and i may not be able to plat it at all but that is cool, not everyone has the next gen console like me and i do not own a PC. My brother in law could probably get it as a Bday gift for me but i am not sure, however i do own the AC rebel collection for the Switch.i can own cheap games from Amazon and i am planning on getting AC 3 remastered for my Bday this year hopefully. AC should had never gone the RPG style, yeah like my cousin said, RPG games are popular rn so Ubisoft wanted to try it out

The problem with Yasuke, is we don't know if he's genuinely a character, or a pander verse character. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a black samurai in feudal Japan, especially since he's a historical character. But I just don't rust Ubisoft's motivations.

Anyone complaining about Assassin's Creed being "woke" is arguing from a flawed premise that Assassin's Creed ever cared about 100% historical accuracy in their stories. Whatever wrong opinion they have about Yasuke's status is irrelevant from the beginning. The series uses History as a backdrop to play around in and have fun Forrest Gump like cameos.
