I changed Video Mode to Force NTSC and selected 250 for the loader settings and suddenly the remote wouldn't select anything anymore! :( Have you come across this? Any idea how to reverse it? Ty!

I dusted my old Wii off recently and my kids are enjoying it. Just be aware that you'll have varying degrees of success with different hard drives. I have an old 240GB drive that launches, plays and exits games flawlessly. I cloned it to a 640GB drive (and increased the partition size) so I can store more games. When playing games from the 640GB drive, games play but will hang (black screen) at random times, usually after completing a level or pressing start at a title screen, presumably when the game is reading from disk/loading the next scene/level/menu/song. I've tried swapping the hard disks into different caddy's and the result is always the same, 240GB toshiba HDD just works, 640GB WD Blue hangs during games. Both HDD's test healthy in CrystalDiskInfo. I'm going to try a spare 750GB drive today and see how it goes.

I use a 2TB Formatted in NTFS and works amazing. I think its a seagate. You can have drives in fat32 or wbfs format, but i find just using NTFS works the best. :)

I suspect the Wii USB port can't provide sufficient power to my larger HDD's so I've ordered a usb Y adapter from Amazon. I needed a Y adapter to power my WiiU HDD and I never thought it may be the issue my Wii is having. My portable HDD's are old internal drives stripped from computers and may have higher power requirements than a typical external drive.

Most likely the USB device your using, if you installed the cios properly you should have no issues! I have a video on how to install cios offline method if you need it. And make sure you downloaded the USA Version of NSMB if your in North America and your wii is NTFS.

Had an issue where my games on WiiFlow would show up and then when i tried to run them would send me back to the wii menu and this also fixed that (the NTCS and 250 settings that is) and didnt effect games that were already working, thank you

This helped me in 2024. Changing the iOS to force 250 loaded my game right up. If it dosent work the first time try again I had to do that

I have a bizarre solution (If nothing else works) My Wii is pal/European BUT! It must have been setup as American on the modding process! Try using NTCS games with there correct NTCS id's. After 12 straight hours this actually worked!! 🥳🎊

sort of works for me on new super mario bros wii, but one time there was an insanely long wait for the game to load. most of the time there is a black screen. i have the cios installed correctly, as well as the wii games in the wbfs folder, the games being in seperate folders with the game name and id in brackets, and the game id in the filename. the loader's ios is 249 and the game's cios is on 250. the drive is formatted to fat32, and it is a sandisk 128gb cruzer blade. i am getting a toshiba 500gb hard drive soon.

Ok cool... Also i recommend downloading NTFS games as well if your in north america! Helps out too. Sometimes you gotta mess with other settings if its PAL version, if your wii is NTFS.

I keep trying to load a disc dumped Mario bros Wii on both wiiflow and usbloader and both crash with “DSI EXCEPTION OCCURRED”, do you know what would fix that? I am using a 64GB usb drive

Might be the type of drive your using. I only use 2.0 ones and never had an issue... also make sure it's in fat32 and no more then 2tb storage. Theres also a sd mod you can use your games for your gamecube and wii games. You can also try. Loads everything from sd.

@@sc8652 you might need to re install the custom iOS or d2x cios installer app. And make sure the 1tb drive is properly formatted to fat 32. And also games in wbfs proper format in separate folder with title I.d.. If all this is correct you should have no issues.

I have issues with specific games. I'll try what you recommend here. I find Kirby Return to Dreamland has freezing errors at certain points when running from the SD card but not from a USB. Donkey Kong country returns i haven't been able to get started in any scenario. Could be a bad ROM though. Lastly the megaman and X legacy collections go black but I understand the games play in 240p. I need to find a way to stop that. I need to do some fiddling. Otherwise most other games just work.

Maybe you changed it to load from HD or SD! Its gotta have the proper path to the game. Or sometimes it could be the USB device itself it dosen't like. Go with what works for you. :)

I also recommend to you download the updated USB Loader GX and the D2 Cios Installer with the new settings. Might help with some of the bugs. If it dosen't then its your devices its not liking! SD & USB / HD.

I downloaded games and they show up in usb loader , but every single game when i open it, shows the black screen and i have to restart the console. None of the games open or work. I already tried forcing ntsc and changing the ios to 250. that didnt change the issue. Make sure you install the proper ios's and that the file structure is correct when naming the folders of the games and it should work. And make sure the drive is less then 2TB in size and plugged into the bottom port USB.

I would recommend installing the newest d2x cios build and usb loader gx sd mod with all the proper cios's! Then go from there... I only deal with NTFS usually! But try that and see what happens. :)

Make sure you installed d2x cios installer correctly with proper ios settings and that the game i.d.'s match up, example (gamename.[title id].wbfs and inside the game folder its title i.d.wbfs only... and change the ios game loading to 250 on usb loader gx or cfg or wiiflow. Hope that helps you.

If you install usb loader gx & d2x cios installer with proper ios installed... (shown in the description). You should not have any issues, but could be the format you have your game also! They must be in a folder with game name and title i.d. of the game in brackets, then once you go into the folder itself must be game i.d.wbfs. And all drives or sd cards must be formated in fat32! Make sure the game's title i.d. matches and structured properly... if that dosent work then you gotta mess around with the settings like i show in the video. You can also try downloading the game from another source, and see if that solves the issue.

try changing the settings on the tv itself if possible, I had the same issue where my screen would go green on a CRT and after fiddling with the CRT's video modes the colors were corrected :)
