Love it! When I was a kid we would go camping and fishing at Salt N Sea in So California. We would fish for days and every night Dad would have his beer and clean fish. My job was to take the scales off. He would end up removing the skin but it kept me busy. Good memories. Thanks for sharing this its crazy the things you forget until you watch something to jog it back to the surface.

Just barely watching this COOL Video today John and I gotta say TOTALLY IMPRESSED! Hmmm...I'm thinking maybe Kevin, Jan's husband learned how to fillet fish from you, because the way he showed us when a filleted a crappie, was similar to your way! Thumbs up, liked and if ever I get to go on a fishing excursion to one of the holding reservoirs here, now I know how to fillet the tilapia or the catfish that is stocked in those reservoirs. :)

Nice job John, always great to see how someone else does it. I tend to leave the tail on to make the skinning easier and flesh out the ribs as well, but don’t get to catch as many as you so take every piece of meat I can get.

Yep that will feed you both well with some salad..Good filleting ..Wayne’s Dad was a great fisherman ..owned a fishing trawler for a while too.He used to catch luderick..a bit similar to sea bass by using the weed growing on the rocks..I went with him a few times in tourist season and the tourists were coming up saying how are you catching all those fish?My father in law said weed..they laughed and thought he was joking.Filleting fish is a lost skill John now too you probably knew this as a boy like Wayne🦘
