The “red briefcase” is a visual representation of blacko’s unique talent under attack by his various critics. The video is actually not in chronological order, the first scene of the video is actually the end of the story blacko is telling in retrospect. Regardless of where blacko found himself (robbery, riches, etc) His talent was always with him; however many distractions caused him to overlook his talent and turn to other ways to succeed. The color red was used strategically as a reoccurring theme in every scene to symbolize this. The color of the dress the women praying for him wore, the color the women sitting next to him wore during the outdoor scene, the watermelons, sirens etc. Even in the end you see blacko finally wearing red, which was a plot twist because although his critics successfully captured the briefcase; in reality Blacko’s talent and uniqueness is internal; something they cannot take away from him. It’s also blacko accepting his fate and taking full control of talent. Notice it’s only in the first scene that he actually carries the briefcase and begins his journey as “Kwaku the traveller 🧳” Blacko is metaphorically sending a message to the world that he is no longer entertaining the opinions of others or explaining his craft. As an artist he is assuming total control of his talent/ art; nothing to discuss. The neon scene was blacko challenging all creatives and free thinkers to follow in his steps. Incredible message and visuals. Blacko to the world 🌎
