Why in the world would you go to the government and inform them of something people are doing on their own farms and try to get them involved to regulate it. People need to quit going to the government and asking for permission. Government was created by us, the people, to secure our rights, our freedoms, not to micromanage how we recycle food scraps and grow our own food.

People make money from things that become regulated.

This is only for larger scale operations not general household level of food waste. It’s to stop weirdos getting tons of food waste delivered into the backyard and then failing the composting process and making their neighbours lives hell. do you see that point?

so moral of the story, from the first few minutes, is that if you are composting and doing good things for the environment AND saves you money, while not making the government any, dont tell the government, esp if they ask... some one will find a way to make money off of ya...

How public spirited. Ya, we need more regulations. Go and take your vaccine.

Food scraps will work to with no additional cost

Only if it goes direct from the kitchen to the chicken otherwise if it needs Transport and Storage, it’s gonna need to be processed

Meal worms and crickets are already commercially available as feed in the pet industry. Why isn't that legislation extended to BSFL?
@desertdog648 жыл бұрын
What about feeding BSFL to fish? Can the fish then be sold to market? Wild caught fish eat insects, and I have seen them for sale to the public at the Farmers Markets.

BSF is a good compost -er.... but here we are hoping to really learn how to produce as a feed for chicken and maybe pigs. The feeds are too expensive so this would really supplement the protein if it works.

Not sure if you’d come to Wisconsin but there is a group that would like to learn about this. They create event weekends to learn a variety of topics. Just a thought.
