Dear Milly, Dimash is 100% real. It's a combination of his inborn talent (perfect pitch, etc.) and the years and years of DAILY training his voice for at least 3 hours a day, with extra work for special performances---PLUS, (my own belief) a special gift, perhaps even miraculous, in which he was born as a gift to the earth, to make people respond to his music by learning to love each other more, and stop finding reasons to hate, based on national or racial barriers. I belief that Dimash was born partly to unite us and to see each other as individuals, not members of groups that are trying to prove who is best. Thank you for your warm response to my comment about people who seem to think it strange for a black woman to recognize the unique qualities in Dimash.

Dimash is a phenomenon, he started singing lessons and 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He is university educated with degrees in classical opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has just (18th June 2020) completed his Masters specialising in Composition, and receiving his Masters degree with Honours, having achieved the maximum score of 100%. His range is over 6 octaves (7 now) but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it. In this performance he was 22 and in a competition for professional singers (not his parents) in China he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to stardom and is now a pop superstar in China. He is now also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is on a solo world tour tight now and in his concerts he sings for 3 to 4 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He is 26 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album in China though. It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk there will be others. I somehow resonate with your first impression of saying he was lypsincing! The first time I heard him I was the same as you, teary eyes and I couldn't believe my own ears, I was a little traumatized that I had to see the same videos over and over again until I could understand he is 100% real! The silver haired Chinese guy and the Chinese woman next to him are the HOSTS of this 2017 Chinese reality TV show ‘The Singer’. I’m fairly certain they don’t allow lip-syncing in singing competitions. Dimash was the only non-Asian invited. Yes. INVITED! They invite PROFESSIONAL SINGERS to compete. Dimash barely missed winning because he got a throat infection and he was just learning English words and sang several songs in English. Jessie J won The Singer in 2018.

hes from Kazakhstan and nothing is fake about this man. hes so close to be on 7 octaves and he sings in about 10 languages and plays 4 instruments. hes highest note is above pianos.

He’s from Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 languages and speaks in five fluently. He has a Master’s degree in voice and is working on his PhD. Mother is a soprano opera singer and father a professor of voice. Been classically trained since he was five (26 now)
