About the Panelists:
A community Afrofuturist, librarian, and teacher, Maurice Broaddus's award-winning work has appeared in places like Lightspeed Magazine, Black Panther: Tales from Wakanda, Out There Screaming, Asimov’s Magazine, Weird Tales, Magazine of F&SF, and Uncanny Magazine. His books include the sci-fi novels Sweep of Stars and Breath of Oblivion; the steampunk works Buffalo Soldier and Pimp My Airship; and the middle grade detective novels The Usual Suspects and Unfadeable. Tonya R. Moore writes and edits speculative fiction. She is the Poetry Editor at Solarpunk Magazine, a Poetry Acquiring Editor at FIYAH Literary Magazine, an Associate Writer at Galactic Journey, a Voodoonauts 2022 Fellow, and a finalist for Analog Science Fiction & Fact’s 2022 Award for Emerging Black Writers.
Nelson Rolon is relatively new to Columbus, having moved from New York in 2021. He teaches at Columbus State Community College with the Languages and Communications Department. Outside of school, Nelson works at FIYAH Literary Magazine as Sponsor Coordinator and Webmaster, and recently served as Guest Editor for its 29th issue. FIYAH is also where Nelson's debut novelette, “Saudade,” was published in 2018. When he’s not writing, Nelson is on his PS4 or watching anime.
