Through their music, Black Star taught me as a teenager that it was ok to be myself, when I didn't fit into the norm. Years later, that was one of the greatest lessons that I have ever learned and its made me who I am today. And for that, I am forever grateful to them.

Ahhhhh .... tried to listen to some 'new hip hop' the other day AND making five minutes was a monumental task.... This Black Star track is the stuff I'm used to listening to .... the creativity of a story and flows encapsulated over a mean track is what made hip hop great. The artist are performing for the love of the craft and the audience.... just watching and listening to this video is an experience in itself .... perhaps that's why there's such a shortage of MC's like this as the performance shows a life long dedication to the craft. Thanks again Black Star!

Heck it's been 30 years and I'm still deciphering what Erik B was talking about.
