Awesome. I always loved the vultures. A few years ago, I saw my first "blonde" vulture. I didn't even know they were a thing until I saw one.

I love vultures🥰 most don't understand why they're sooo important 🙏 I'm in central Florida and usually the black vultures I've seen are bigger and have a greyish colored head or the turkey buzzards, but haven't seen one with an all black head.... cute and guess the jays aren't happy lol... He/she looks over like I wonder what's going on over there and then does some preening lol... Awesome footage 🙏🤗💚🥰

I had no idea there were different types of Vultures! I always assumed they all looked like the cartoon versions, with long crooked necks. Lol Thanks for the video @BB

I love the black vultures!! I used to feed them leftover food from a kitchen I worked at. I wish they'd stay down South though, b/c it can get too cold up here in CT in the Winter!! They used to not be up this far North...Tonight it's going down to around 7 degrees....🥶🥶🥶

@@MyBackyardBirding I actually went grocery shopping a few hours ago, doing Christmas dinner shopping, and bought a package of chicken thighs to throw in a nearby field for the vultures :)

I started getting to know Black Vultures about 4 years ago. The species has a limited range here in CT due to the environment and habitat that they prefer. I'm very familiar with Turkey Vultures due to their large size and manor of soaring, which I enjoy watching. But Black Vultures don't soar as often and have a flight style more like a Red-tailed Hawk or Cooper's Hawk, which involves a series of quick flaps followed by gliding.

I live here is SWMO they have a lot of black vultures in Arkansas but we have turkey vultures just north in Missouri. The black vultures have been moving north over time and it’s always a bit deal in the news because the black vultures have a reputation of being aggressive towards young livestock.

I've heard of that, but from my experience with them it's hard to imagine them killing a calf for example unless it's helpless, but you'd think the other cows would chase them off? BB

Black Vultures make a soft “woof” sound like a dog. It sounds like how pugs bark. 😄

I assume those aren't real hawk calls in the background, but blue jay imitations? Beautiful clear video! Thanks, as always, for including camera and lens information.

Vultures are such misunderstood birds. In the volunteer work I used to do, I've was in close proximity to a couple of non-releasable birds. While one wanted to drive me away because I wasn't accepted into her 'flock' the other was an absolute darling that I was able to feed tidbits to occasionally. Every time I hear someone complain about how ugly they are I will get out my phone and show them a picture of Bee.

@@Solitaire1 I know right... Just that they don't understand who they are.... and why they don't have big head feathers...so they don't get sick etc...that's sweet about volunteer work 🙏

Hi from Columbia Tusculum, Cincinnati Ohio... well.... some days, we feel like the black vulture capital! There's as many as 40 black vultures that perch on a telecommunications tower on Eastern Avenue. Until about a year ago, we had only turkey vultures. No more turkey vultures since these guys showed up.

@@kasandrabrown8611 We can get large flocks of them around Knoxville, TN also. I haven't tried to count them but I would not be surprised if they were similar numbers. I see a lot of turkey vultures too. Happy their numbers are so strong. Of course, this is the greatest skunk road kill area I've ever lived in so there is plenty for them to eat.
