When I am deer hunting here in Minnesota in November it's a guarantee that I'll see a good number of red squirrels! Usually I get to observe them chasing each other... or when they're solitary they are mostly foraging. It's so interesting watching them and I get a kick out of when they get alarmed they can sit for the longest time and call out.

Watching squirrels raise their young is awesome, did that some years ago with a custom set up. One possibility is to check out my review of this box kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGrCo6OslLOrnrM and consider whether you want to enlarge the entrance hole which is 2" to about 3" inches and put it on a tree and attract squirrels. The other alternative is to get a screech owl sized box and set up your own custom camera. Check out - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGPMYZqmeLesbZY Good Luck BB

I started getting to know Black Vultures about 4 years ago. The species has a limited range here in CT due to the environment and habitat that they prefer. I'm very familiar with Turkey Vultures due to their large size and manor of soaring, which I enjoy watching. But Black Vultures don't soar as often and have a flight style more like a Red-tailed Hawk or Cooper's Hawk, which involves a series of quick flaps followed by gliding.

I'm curious about the microphone quality on these cameras. I have a Campark TC06 which is a phenomenal camera with a good microphone and is my go-to for my KZbin videos. However, they seem to have been discontinued so I bought the Campark TC07 and found the same quality of video, but the microphone was horrible. I also find that the solar panels don't provide much battery relief up here in cloudy Michigan.
@MyBackyardBirding2 күн бұрын
The best new trailcam replacing the tc06 is the Voopeak/Campark TC22 see my review at kzbin.info/www/bejne/j36zk6xud9d6acksi=VbA5mKvL1V2CUaEj Sound is awesome. Solar is a challenge this time of year with clouds and low sun. With the TC22 you can also add a solar panel in addition to the built in one. BB

@LouisPowell-eq1jo4 күн бұрын
The reason the woodpecker is drumming on your metal chimney is because it makes a lot of noise! He can't find a suitable dead branch to use as a sounding board. The intervals are so he can listen if another woodpecker is answering!!

I love the black vultures!! I used to feed them leftover food from a kitchen I worked at. I wish they'd stay down South though, b/c it can get too cold up here in CT in the Winter!! They used to not be up this far North...Tonight it's going down to around 7 degrees....🥶🥶🥶

Vultures are such misunderstood birds. In the volunteer work I used to do, I've was in close proximity to a couple of non-releasable birds. While one wanted to drive me away because I wasn't accepted into her 'flock' the other was an absolute darling that I was able to feed tidbits to occasionally. Every time I hear someone complain about how ugly they are I will get out my phone and show them a picture of Bee.

Hi from Columbia Tusculum, Cincinnati Ohio... well.... some days, we feel like the black vulture capital! There's as many as 40 black vultures that perch on a telecommunications tower on Eastern Avenue. Until about a year ago, we had only turkey vultures. No more turkey vultures since these guys showed up.
