-Base coat (of your choice)

-5 oz paper cup: amzn.to/1MFYfk5
-Room temperature filtered water
-Orange stick: amzn.to/1U20nmV (or your choice of sharp tool)
-(Optional) Simply Peel: amzn.to/1JWCNsM or Liquid Latex: amzn.to/1JsI9JL or Tape: amzn.to/1MFXQyc
-(Optional) Tweezers: amzn.to/2375kRC
-Q-tips cotton swabs: amzn.to/2c0WkJ1
-Cleanup brush: amzn.to/1P0lvH9
-Clean up with acetone: amzn.to/1TlzxtI
►Step-by-Step◄
-Start out with clean, dry nails and apply a base coat
-Use Alpine Snow as your base color
-(Optional) prep around your nails with Simply Peel, latex or tape
-In your cup of water, create a bullseye with the white in between the blue & black
-Use your orange stick or sharp tool to draw in your design
-Carefully dip in your nail(s)
-Clean off the surface, then slowly pull out
-Remove protection if used, and clean up around the edges
-Finish with a top coat!

I love this!! I learned to do water marble watching you. I suffer from depression and playing with colors is therapy for me. My mother loved for me to do her nails in water marble designs. we especially liked the glitter base coats with them clear polish. She died of lung cancer in July of 2013. I haven't had time in months to watch videos. I was a cancer caregiver for my husband and he just died in mid June. He loved for me to watch , learn and accomplish pretty manicures while saving him MONEY!! lol!! I think the last videos I saw were around the time you lost one of your pets. It's great to see you still teaching us to have fab nails!! I still love black vinyl polish under my glitter polishes, even though I hate the color black. I still wear my green Zoya polish for depression!!

Love love love it when you do mom's nails....because I mentioned that we chatted about you doing your mom's nails...ON VIDEO, that she didn't have that kind of pressure and that she should just enjoy a free manicure that lots of people would kill for, lol. She let me get wild last night on her red nails.....and I painted some white plumeria. Wheeee! She was adorable showing them off though, I just want her to be able to enjoy more thrills like that. I LOVE these!! Your Mom has small nails like mine and they just so happen to be the same length as mine right now because I had to cut off all my nails a couple weeks ago due to massive amounts of breakages. (one below the smile line=ouch!). These came out really beautifully. I've been wearing naked nails since I had to cut them all off because I was too depressed but once again, you've inspired me to get out of my pity hole :) Thank You!

I'm so excited because I've never seen anyone in a tutorial with the same kind of nails I have. If your Mom was a hand model, my nails could definitely be her understudy lol - right down to the index fingernail being a little more oval than the rest. I've never water marbled before because I'm too chicken, but seeing this video gives me a little more hope. lol Thank you and thank you Colette's Mom! :o)

I loved it!! I'm going to try it right after St. Patrick's day and Easter!! it's one of the first that you've done that I have the same colors. the hardest part to me is knowing what colors to use and what Polish will work or not. I often don't have time to get in a good manicure much less all the testing. again great job!! looking forward to more water marble March!!

Very pretty! It's nice to see the way marbling looks on short nails. Gives me courage to try it on myself. I haven't got too much room for detail as my nails are trimmed down to the quick from breaks, and your mom's nails are actually longer than mine at the moment. Nice job! You have become the marbling queen Colette! What kind of paper are you using to do your test strips? I think I should get some to practice patterns on because all of my designs end up pretty much looking the same, just with different colors. I am still learning the technique though and find your channel to be very helpful. Thanks!!

I find it easier to make "decals" to watermarble on another person. In fact, that's what I did on my mom last March.

+My Simple Little Pleasures Yay! For me, doing it as a decal is easier and less messy. Sometimes it can be hard to explain exactly what you need the other person to do. Your mom seems to do just fine! I've done it 2 ways; I've dipped a plastic bag in the marble (like you do with your test sheets) and I've just waited for the polish to dry in the cup so I could pull it out. I'm excited to see how yours will turn out.

+My Simple Little Pleasures Yes, looking forward to watching how good is the "Miracle Mat" I have the "UberChic" mat and I love it... I can do anything on it and while workig on three to five manicures all at the same time. I can also so water marble with it but I want to see how your mat works.. who know I might get one =) btw very nice manicure on your Mom.

I love this! I always end up taking too much off the edges of my nails with tape or a qtip. I haven't tried a paint brush yet I think it might help though, what type of bristle do you use on your brush?

Have you tried the pastel color's from the Color Club line as a water marble? I love the colors and just wanted to see if white, darker pink, light yellow , darker blue and lighter purple would work for a easter mani?
