For people who want to know, she does not 1 shot. In the trailers they always have the people at 40% HP. She did 70-75 bodyshot. If 2x it's 140-150. It's not a 1 shot. Two things people aren't considering with this: 1. There is no role queue in Marvel Rivals. Which means if black widow 1 shots you you can just swap to tanks to counter and she can't 1 shot you anymore. You don't have that option in OW2 against widowmaker with role lock where you either beat her as a dps or lose the game. If widow kills you as spiderman (if she can even hit the shot with you moving as fast as a bullet) then swap to venom and problem solved. 2. Cosmic selection (hero bans). If you're diamond and above you can vote to ban her from your match if you just don't want to play against her at all. (people aren't going to be hitting crazy shots consistently below diamond anyways)

True, but if your whole team needs to be a tank to avoid getting 1 shot and there is no other counterplay that is an issue. I would prefer of they just lowered her ammo to 6 instead of 8 and see how that goes. Also weapon sway, scoped glint, charge time are all options for making her less oppressive

@@danger-247 I'd argue that swapping is expected in hero shooters and if it takes swapping to win then it is what it is. If my team has the option of going tank and making black widow completely useless and she can either choose to stay widow and give us a free win or swap, then I'd say she has a ton of counter play and she punishes people 1 tricking her. This whole argument is assuming you're going against a widow that can actually hit shots which if that is the case then you're probably in a very high rank and good enough at the game to just go Hela and 2 tap her or have good enough movement on spiderman that she can't land shots or go Psylocke and go invisible and kill her ect ect. There are options, people are just panicking that they might not be able to play their 1 trick against her.

Im going to wait to see how she plays tomorrow before I develop an opinion on the character. There have been plenty of characters so far that looked insanely OP in their trailers, only for them to be released in the game and it turns out they are ok. I do however understand the concern. Also, I really hope the devs don't put a focus on counter-swapping unless that focus is them trying to avoid players from having to do that. It's one of the many reasons I left Overwatch because it always sucks being forced to play a character you don't like, just for the sake of seeing a funny "You Win" screen.

They added a great balancing feature I’ve never seen before in a shooter with Hawkeye. You can one tap if you hold onto a person long enough. Makes it so you can’t just peak and fire around a corner hoping to get a headshot like Hanzo in overwatch. Awesome. Then they add a character that craps on that cool addition. Not so awesome. If she isn’t balanced right at launch it could be very bad for the game

I feel like Spider-man, Black Panther, Magic, and even Iron Fist may struggle in a one-on-one face off with Black Widow. Maybe Psylocke or Star Lord could pressure her, but with good enough aim, Widow won’t have to worry about them…

Hear me out…one of the main issues with widow-maker is her grapple. So if you dive her she is forced to fight you back with her other abilities instead of grappling away forcing her to have to commit to whatever position she is sniping from. This was honestly the one character I was worried about because I knew she was going to be a sniper but I think it’s is ok, and considering the amount of people that can contest her like iron fist, black panther, spiderman, etc. I’m sure it is balanced, Just gotta out play her

I really loved what they did with Hawkeye’s passive. Making him have to track the target in order to get that ohko was just genius. I don’t see any limiting factors on Black Widow’s one-shot. At least in Overwatch, Widow has to stay scoped in for a short time to get full damage. I really don’t know how this is going to work. It really just feels like Hawkeye won’t be able to keep up. Both have one-shots but Black Widow has hitscan and doesn’t have to track. Both have a good get-off-me tool. Black Widow appears to have better mobility overall. And they both have ultimates that make hitting your shots easier but Hawkeye can’t headshot the afterimages while Black Widow just slows the enemies to make that headshot easier.

This looks like the widowmaker problem. What is the counterplay to being one-tapped across the map by a hero that is also very capable close range and has above average mobility? Spoiler alert, there isnt one. Hopefully she can have some risk implemented into her gameplay by having low uptime on her sniper, but 8 shots and an average reload time isnt going to work for that. At least you can just try to run Venom Hulk Thor into her I guess... pretty disappointed after the amazing work they put into not making Hawkeye oppressive

Also, this is now the 3rd hero NetEase has revealed that I think they completely fumbled the bag, the other two being Storm and Psylocke. Unlike the other two, however, Black Widow is going to be a problem for the game. Look at how much damage she does on a body-shot!

Everyone is already complaining just for a sniper... Without even analysing the gameplay. First of all, all the enemies she takes down in one shot seem to be low on health, the ones that don't show their health are because they have not been previously damaged by Widow, but most likely are low health too just to hype the character. This is the same that happens with every character reveal, like that last Iron fist ult clip where everyone was low to make it look more powerful than it actually is. And second, this game is at its core, completely different to OW, it has completely different gameplay philosophy and characters, just for starters, there are already like 8 dive type heroes (ranging from highly mobile dps as Spiderman and Iron Fist to super aggressive tanks as Cap America, Venom and Hulk) that will completely crush this low mobility character with half the effort required for her to hit them, let alone kill them if they are shielded or healed. So yeah, stop the screaming and wait for the *proper* gameplay reveals, in fact, just wait for the game release before jumping to conclusions, jeez...

If it doesn't 1 shot and the devs put the hero's showcase video together in a way that misleads viewers into thinking it's a 1 shot then of course people will make that assumption. It is a very fair assumption to make. Also dive doesn't counter 1 shots. It's a different game to overwatch but seeing as this hero's whole thing seems like widow from overwatch comparing them makes a lot of sense. She also has a sprint and what looks like a good close range option. The hero easily looks like the most problematic one so far. Criticism makes games better. But yeah, lets reevaluate after release

REWORK!!!: Battons: Her melee is now her primary, she can still switch between sniper and battons with the 1 and 2 keys. Using any melee attacks (1, lshift and v) builds up her magazine, the more damage she does with her melee the more bullets she earns. Sniper: Her sniper now has a max bullet count of 20 with reduced damage for each shot. Bullets are earned through melee attacks like previously mentioned, or passively as time goes by, meaning she cant reload and can only earn bullets via the already mentioned ways. Shooting with no scope behaves similar to a shotgun, consuming only one bullet but having a huge damage falloff. Shooting with the scope consumes 3 bullets but without damage fall off and increased damage. Doing a headshot on the last enemy you hit with your melee oneshots them. I took inspiration from a character called *Schythe* from a game called phiting that has similar mechanics.

The reason why i say this is because hawkeye has an ability that launches people away with his sword, then comes iron fist that has an ability to knock people away but with a kick, and now blackwidow is here, AND SHE ALSO HAS A KICK TO KNOCK PEOPLE AWAY!!! Moon knight because he doesnt need to see you to hit you. Starlord with Adam warlock teamup cause if he dies he can just rez and kill you. And so on... Plus this trailer like all the trailers are misleading people thought hawkey can one shot because he was doing it without reaching the charge to do so, even though he can fully one shot with 100% charge. Never was he at 100% charge in his trailer. Which means they were all at lower HP. Just like in this trailer. Trying to simulate a game where most people wont be at full HP, unless there is a strategist around them.

Yeah got to agree with the comments here. This character looks kinda broken and unfair. Sometime in the video I think she one shot a venom? Not good balancing in my opinion and basically just looks like a buffed up widowmaker. Still, I have faith that the team will find a way to balance her

Was so hyped for this game but im genuinely concerned and worried for it now that they added this horrific deisgn One shot sniper characters DO NOT belong in hero team based shooters where 1 death can lead to the whole team being wiped and losing At least hawkeye cant ads, has to charge the shot, perfect draw it and from his trailer has a very low drop off point considering he was always mid-close range

Hear me out: I hate snipers, I really do, BUT she MAY not be as bad. There are a lot of very mobile characters who could dive her, we really don't know her damage (since apparently the trailers here tend to have enemies who aren't on max health). Let's withhold our judgment to after we play the game and see how it goes. Let's not pretend it's a first sniper character or weapon we as gamers have to deal with.

No no no no no. I was literally telling someone 30 minutes ago there are no BS sniper one-shots in MR (Hawkeye doesn’t really count). Then I get this pop in my feed. If she really can one shot, they need to redesign her to play like Ashe from OW. That would be fine. But not one-tapping. Nobody enjoys being one-tapped.
