The only reason why the Black widow lost is that it was crawling around looking for a WEB nest to crawl into. Had the Black widow already been in a web nest, it most likely would have won. The black widow can't capture prey or defend itself against enemies while it is crawling around on a flat surface. It has to be safely in a web nest in order to do that. But a TARANTULA can be on a flat surface to capture prey or defend itself because a tarantula lives on the GROUND, unlike a WEB NEST-living Black widow.

Why do people think that Black Widows are so fierce just because they have toxic venom. They’re actually not fierce or aggressive. They spin webs and rely on webs to capture prey. They don’t dwell on the ground and wrestle with prey. They are actually kind of delicate like most web weavers are. The Woodlouse is a completely different family of spiders. This is no contest.
@dawudjibreel6075 Жыл бұрын
It wasnt no contest by any means. The woodlouse spider was in trouble for the majority of the video, but the widow didnt capitalise on the many opportunities it had to sufficiently ensnare the woodlouse spider, always webbing it slightly then wandering off, allowing the woodlouse spider to break free every time.
@ianp8825 Жыл бұрын
@@dawudjibreel6075 The Black Widow was not wandering off, it was in full panic mode and trying to escape which is why it keeps flying out of shot all the time at speed. When it realised it could not escape or pin the Woodlouse down enough it tried foolishly at the end to bite the Woodlouse which was just dooming itself at that point as it could never outreach it jaws. The Woodlouse spider is not like many other spiders that the Black Widow tends to wins against if not in a web. It will never takes it eyes off it's opponent and will always try to face them with it armored front and massive jaws spread out to literally out bite almost any other spider of it size range with ease. This is why it almost always watching The Black Widow and why the Black Widow made it's fatal mistake through fear when it realised the Woodlouse would not stop till it killed it. Most Black Widows either web down their opponent and bite a leg or try to come from behind as they are in fact quite cowardly and try to avoid direct contact, at least from the front even in their webs. The Woodlouse is always preventing anything from getting behind it and this behaviour got too much for the Black Widow basically as it's use to the other spider eventually panicking and showing it a flank or their rear for an easy bite. In the Black Widow web it in the ascendance but would still be at risk of being killed should it try and attack from the front if the jaws are still partly operable, outside of it it's just another thing to bite and kill to the Woodlouse as it far more ill tempered for sure when locked in tiny spaces with other invertebrates. It basically a serial killer and the Black Widow knows that even if you did not.

Hi. I am no expert. I photograph spiders as a hobby. That said. I cannot tell if this is a black widow or a false widow without seeing under it. However it did all the classic widow moves. It acted like it was trying to escape all the while wrapping the Woodlouse spider At around 9:16 it moved in for a leg joint bite, (again classic widow. Black Widows will normally bite a leg joint). After the woodlouse spider's abdomen trembled. At 9:45 the woodlouse spider shook off the venom and grabbed the widow. t pulled her in for a bite. The widow was instantly immoblized . It would then come in fir a second bite. It seems that woodlice spiders have some immunity or tolerance to other spider venom.Maybe because they eat woodlice which taste horrible. In the end you can see the lingering effects of the widow's venom. The person who made failed because they did not tell us if the spider lived or ate the widow.

I agree with the commenter who said that 9 times out of 10 the black widow is the one who comes out victorious. I began watching this video with that expectation. Seems like MOST spiders and scorpions would much rather not tangle with the black widow. I guess the black widow is considered a predator among most of them. And this one walked around the jar doing what black widows ALWAYS do....spinning her web in an attempt to tangle up its opponents' legs. The woodlouse laid back in the cut in a defensive posture like it was basically saying "Just leave me alone, I don't want to fight you but I will if I have to" and we all know the black widow isn't even listening to that logic.....it's that spider's nature to fight, win or lose. It went in for the kill and the woodlouse laid the deathgrip on her.....Seems like at the end the woodlouse was sitting back in disbelief like "I really killed her huh??".....Ha!! :-)

Yea, a dual death in that ring. Woody didn't survive either, he was in his own death throes.

I have a crocada dysdera spider, I caught it,on a glue trap, back in 2006, in an old building I lived in,I don't remember if It was dead or alive, I just decided to check,the glue trap,and was shocked,because I never saw a spider,with large fang's,any way, It's called the Wood Louse spider, and I removed it from the glue trap,with baby oil,and I put it in a medicine bottle, and scare people with it,lol, Here we are in 2019,and I still have it.

And that woodlouse spider is just gonna waste a perfectly good black widow meal... Do you know how many starving kids in Africa would kill for that meal..

What happened? Did the woodlouse spider inject some kinda paralyzing venom? Or just killed it with a bite

The black widow made a louse-y competitor

Why doesn't the widow use the web wrap like the Redback does. A Red back will run right in and start wrapping before an opponent can do anything. Goes to show why Aussie spiders are more deadly.

Are woodlouse spiders related to camel spiders

crazy how bad some people are, seeing the widow lose

It would seem like the black widow was actually trying to circle and entangle the woodlouse but the woodlouse spider was on to the black widows game and was trying to untangle itself. The woodlouse at times is heavily underestimated and it's jaws are like vice grips! Slashing and breaking shizz up! And it looks like it's got some potent venom as well?! It's jaws almost re mind me of the camel spider. Scissorzor wins!!!

No that black widow wasnt webbing the wood spider...it was scared and tryied to leave...but any other day that boack widow woulda easily webbed down that wood spider and won
@bkeaton225 жыл бұрын
@@IvanLopez-dn7vs, bullshit! It's quite obvious the Black Widow was trying to lay web to entangle the Woodlouse, but it didn't work. And the Woodlouse kicked that ass, quit making excuses!

A black widow is very intelligent for a arachnid, it only attacks if it's hungry here the widow slept on the strength of the other spider and thought the web will be enough too hold him until he is hungry, that is why he left knowing he was going too be in trouble, the last resort was venom against brute strength and the widow failed
