I think people's misconception of voodoo comes from ignorance and Hollywood. Same with Santeria. If people did actual research and spoke with legitimate practitioners they would learn there are positives to the religion. Sadly this poor woman lost her life dabbling in something that she didn't know about and angered spirits. Like sis said...ignorance can kill you.

I agree too that some spirits have human bias, including race. For example, if I was a palm colored person, I wouldn't invoke the presence of High John the Conqueror to ask for help. Tread lightly, have respect, and learn with an open heart. If you dont know where to start, Invoke the presence of divine Source to guide you in fostering relationships with your spirits/guides and the spiritual practices that best resonate with your soul. Put in the efforts to get to know them, spend quiet time with them invoking their presence, speaking to them throughout the day, provide offerings, learn the domains in which they abide over, be disciplined in your practice, etc.

A lot of AA don’t know their lineage so does that mean we can only be Christian’s or Muslim?
@olikah466715 күн бұрын
No. But there are different ways to get into spirituality without putting yourself in harm’s way.

Genealogy is how you start. Start with family member obituaries and go from there. We know our lineage it’s just not in our physical mind sometimes.

Hoodoo/Louisiana voodoo.There’s also loads of other practices. However, if you’ve noticed, that’s the main reason many people who are just bound to their national land play it safe and are just Christian or Muslim.

Initiation, initiation, INITIATION!!!! There's a reason you must be initiated into many African Traditional Religions.

I felt the “closed practice” part because I went to a fete (fete erzile) a few years ago. I had to buy a ticket for the event. The host of the event had a fete before that which I went to (fete Kouzen). Long story short, the same people from the first event, went to the erzile fete. No one there was friendly with me because I’m an “outsider.” I had a few weird dreams after those events. Certain attendees of both events happened to be In some of my nightmares letting me know I was not welcome. I would never go back to any more “events.” Closed practices are for their circle ONLY.
@rosiecheeks.k7 күн бұрын
Oh no!! That doesn’t sound good eek! But why would they sell tickets to people if they don't want outsiders to attend?

Slavic girl here, practicing Taoist occultism in Maoshan sect. I actually saw my past life in which I was Chinese woman, poisoned in front of her little son 💔 So nationality of our current incarnation shouldn't define what we practice.... in OPEN practices and this should sink in. Moreover as You said, not everyone coming from certain lineage can practice in their own grographical currents, spirits are selective in with whom they decide to share and that's perfectly ok. Not everyone would be able to commune with spirits that don't want anything to do with them 😐 Some resonate with certain currents for a reason, but not every practice in that current will work for them. Even INSIDE certain currents there are spirits who would resonate with You and who wouldn't. Like I am Taoist, but I cannot work with all Taoist spirits, cause my soul does resonate with ones and not with the others. I have been accepted by some and rejected by others. It's what it is. That's what ppl keep forgetting and just as You said, if a Spirit choses You, they do. If they don't, we have nothing to do with them. That woman most likely tried to force such spiritual communion and it went horribly wrong.

My father holds that same opinion in certain regard however you’re talking about open practices. I’m clearly talking about closed ones. It’s just basic common sense, just like you said some spirits wouldn’t want to commune with you or just anyone. Many of them just help their own people. If the idea of voodoo or many other close practices worked like being open that means that literally any and everyone could do everything……Haitian voodoo and many other practices are just not like that. If that were the case, it wouldn’t be called a closed practice. Like I said in the video, some spirits take any and everything and everyone but a majority of the of them, especially enclosed practices do not. That is fact. When it comes to past lives, etc. that’s exactly what it is a past life….. in this life, especially seeing the nonsense that other people are doing and getting hurt. You should not go into things that do not serve you Directly, especially when they don’t have to do with your lineage. You also should not mix practices and spirits because many don’t like that, especially in Haitian voodoo hence why it doesn’t allow for most outside interference.

I am not associated with any organized religion so I have no authority on this stuff, just my opinions and experiences. So I hope I don't overstep. I don't think they usually care about race but those religions are very symbolic, so if they were biased in life, they might be in death. I'd communicate before doing anything with any spirit or entity. I have heard that if a spirit is involved in a religion and has an important role, they are permanently anchored to this world until the belief in them wanes. From my interactions with different intities, they don't usually care so much about race because In my experience, the intent is more of a driver, and just because she was a great person on the outside doesn't mean her inner mind was like that too. Just sayin. Also, I don't like that she went there with a group, and was the only one that didn't return. Makes me think it might have been fowl play on their parts. I wonder if she bothered to communicate with her spirit team before she left?

Y’all come in my comments being missionaries when this content is NOT for you. It gives you have nothing better to do. My channel explores numerous spiritual experiences not just voodoo or Christianity. No one disrespected anyone or anything y’all are sensitive and think everyone believes what you do. What you guys do is equivalent to me going to a new age Jesus believer channel commenting about ominist beliefs. It’s just very stupid. I explore and explain different perspectives in cultural experiences. Y’all sit here tryna condemn anyone who thinks differently than you. I went to Catholic school my whole life and spent most of my adolescence in Catholic and Christian churches exploring my own personal faith. Was a youth group leader and all. So google me or look at my videos before you pop shit with no premise. This is my channel I fosterto be a safe space for EVERYONE but for w.e reason many people with your mindset are the only ones PLAGUING my comments. So you can stay blocked.

To any African-Americans, who don’t have anyone within their present life that can specify where exactly from Africa their ancestors may be how do you practice a specific form of spiritualism? Do you practice? Who do Vado voodoo Christianity Buddhism? I want to find my own path and I wanna do it right because well we all watch this video. How does one even start?
@prettyracha_12 күн бұрын
Honestly as an African American like being disconnected from your ancestors and roots takes a toll on you and personally I really want to get closer to my ancestors and roots but I understand going on a spiritual journey takes time and I’ll rather take my time learning doing research upon things before practicing because you literally don’t know what you can open yourself up to and that is one thing I’m very big on. For now I light a white candle and a pour a clean glass of water and pray and give thanks to my direct lineage and ancestors showing gratitude I do eventually want to build an alter but that is going to take time for me to do because I want to show respect and do what feels comfortable and safe but most importantly stay consistent. I know I’m not ready to step into certain things because it scares me so I’ll rather take my time and truly educate myself and I accept that this may take years to learn and fully grasp but I dang shore don’t want to do it wrong especially if I don’t have direct ties I. know voodoo ain’t something I would mess with though😂 no wayyy
