I'm not arguing against Sister Ali's text because I do enjoy the book and believe it is something both Black men and women should read; however, we're beyond the point of help. To start, Black people dropped the ball a long time ago by avoiding the inevitable elephant in the room: race war. We had that chance during Jim Crow but now integration divided us to the point that we won't congregate for ourselves. Black women are themselves their own group; Black men, we've always been by ourselves now we're taking the opportunity to better ourselves. While the speed of elevation won't be as fast as Black women, the shortcomings along our way won't be drastic. Black women, on the other hand, well... let's just say the crickets will say their peace to them. And Black men are far too busy with our journey to have to lower ourselves to be step stools for Black women; we'll leave that to the bears. The biggest problem are those still trying to save this burning house; let it burn down. It's nice to think there's hope but hey every high felt amazing as some point until it wore off. America was a already hostile place when we brought here, better to live for one's self than to die for the lack of community. Black men, stop considering helping "the community." The community doesn't consider us therefore pay it back in full. Never announce your arrival and that goes double for our departure. Let them figure that out. Than the Black Women has established the New Era Black Family, Women Headed as Normal. Having kids without a husband causing life long Trauma for sons and daughters. Our people as a whole need to be uber-focused on our economics. If thatvmeans college gir you then go. If that means trade school then go. We need more financial institutions so obviously we need more youth in economics because no one is going to give us anything so we have to create it ourselves. Let's not worry about how we look to outsiders. True wealthy people aren't obvious to the common eye.
