It’s crazy. At my university I was head of the black student Union, the nphc, and was a student officer. When I approached black women I got more than nuclear rejection, so I stuck to myself. These same women then chastised me for not dating them, after a white woman said she liked me just the way I was. I would ask “do you wanna date me”, they’d always say no. They’re just bitter, seeing any of us happy, and it having nothing to do with them. I say this to ever man. If you ca get off the plantation do it. I’m not saying don’t date black women. As a Mexican man I’ve experienced this myself. Years ago in my 20’s I used to hit the club a lot and got ZERO attention from women then I met an Asian woman who I started dating. We went to the club for her friends bday. I was the only man in the group at the club with like 10 beautiful Asian women. When I hit the dance floor with them there was 2 Mexican girls sitting on the side giving the dirtiest looks and shaking their head at me when I made eye contact with them. I know EXACTLY what they were thinking but I also know this, had I been at the club by myself they wouldn’t have given 2 shits about what I was doing and would’ve for sure not given me a chance if I talked to them, but seeing me with women who don’t look like them bothered them. I'm a "black chick" I can't stand thugs! I am not into "black culture" the typical things I am supposed to like as a black person. I feel this same way as a female. I'm told I talk too proper but I have learned that it depends on where you are. I've lived in different places and just now seeing that there are good guys, clean cut. I am a black woman in her 40s without children and I want the clean cut. I appreciate the time and effort it takes because I am willing to do the same plus that’s what I experienced growing up. The first time I saw my father in casual attire, I was in my late teens/ early twenties. My grandfather would wear dress shirt and slacks with a hat just to go to the market, even in the SUMMERTIME. The generations after that have mostly NOT taught the art to their children. Most guys wouldn’t be able to tell you what are cuff links and collar bars. Am I saying that has to be a part of daily attire, no. What I’m saying is that somewhere along the line something happened and it became ok to not respect ourselves 🤦🏾‍♀️
