Just like my Grandma's cobbler, only a cup of sugar, cup of self rising flour, cup of milk, half a stick of butter and then the fruit, fresh, canned or frozen. How much easier could it be? And I always had everything to make it and my four kids LOVED it. Also, used to send them out to pick berries etc. and told them if they could fill up my container, I'd make them a cobbler! Kept them busy and we had a delicious dessert!!

Nothing better than picking blackberries with long pants and long sleeves with bug spray on a humid and hot day! Heating up the kitchen to bake the cobbler, must have also added to its deliciousness. Leslie, you are adorable!

God is so good….he answered prayers for Caroline’s health, and for the well… you and your family continuously demonstrate the importance of “let go and let God”. All things are on his time, his plan and trusting him is what we must do at all times. I have always said when faced with challenges, we need to relinquish control and give it to God. We need to get out of his way so he can take cars of things. Thanks for reminding us.

That cobbler looked so good. My grandmother always cooked her blackberries and then strained the seeds out of them and thin she would make biscuit dough and make little dumplings out of them and thats how she made her cobblers. I've always done mine tge same way, cause that's how she taught me...I will have to try it that way now.

Recipe is similar to mine but I melt the butter in the baking dish then pour in the batter and mix some sugar with the berries and pour on top. Love this dessert

Well great recipe we are getting snow for some reason I always want to bake I made and old fashioned oatmeal cake today one for me and one for my elderly neighbors we are suppose to get about 8 in of the white stuff here in Ky but it is beautiful just not safe for people who have to get out I have been there before retired now so I get prepared so I don't have to get out I'm going to have to make this the next snow I was blessed with my tame blackberries this year a few cause I wrapped from birds got my share anyways love your dish and love your shirt Happy for Caroline and family HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISAAC

These cobblers were called Yum Yum Cobblers in a recipe book that l used to make this. I used any kind of fruit and it was also good. So, pleased to learn that your Daughter and family are able to move into their new home. 🙂🤗 The BlackBerry cobbler is exactly how my Grandmother, Mom and I have made it except our recipe calls for cinnamon in the batter. We use the same cobbler recipe for making cherry cobbler. It uses sweetened tart red cherries. I use Walmarts "Oregon Tart Pie Cherries" two cans drained. To the cherry cobbler batter dough I add a teaspoon of almond flavoring.

Great birthday dessert! Not everyone likes cake...my oldest grandson always wanted a fresh strawberry pie (the cold version)...I like cobblers and crisps especially in the winter months..gives a person a warm comfy feeling after a nice bowl of soup or chili.
