Now my mouth is set for cobbler. Years ago.......about 42 years ago....an older lady in our church taught me how to make the batter with the stick of butter like yours. Except no vanilla in it and 2 tsp baking powder. She also used a can of sliced peaches in heavy syrup....up from a vegetable can size. Several years ago I took it to our Sunday School potluck. I had forgotten about it because I had made it sooo often. Not tooting my own horn......how easy can it be ....and they loved it. Actually tooting Mrs. Stella's. The ladies had to have the recipe and I gave it to them. Some made it and said theirs didn't turn out like mine. Never understood that. The next few Sunday and Wed night services ladies would ask me about my cobbler and how I made it. It was unbelievable. A lot of these were wonderful cooks. So I felt a little embarrassed at how easy it was. But a new generation had grown up and Mrs Stella was long gone to heaven. I know it was very good with blackberries. Thanks! ♥️

I was surprised you didn't wear an apron. I was expecting to see blackberry juice on your pretty white shirt. I would have had it all over me! The cobbler looked great and even the fruit spread out so nice.

Also folks she adds what looks like a cup of milk and a teaspoon of vanilla to the topping batter....then dumps the batter into the melted butter already in the casserole pan...then plops the prepared berries strategically evenly over the batter! Then in the oven it goes!

My Grandma used to send us back on the hill to pick berries and then would make cobbler. Her version was more like a pie but I'm going to try your version. Could you use cherries or any other kind of fruit?
