If I were in the market for a new phone I would buy it in a heartbeat. I switched from my busted Blackberry Priv to a Pixel 2 XL because the KeyOne didn't seem like a good enough upgrade for me. In a year though, probably the only two phones I'll be looking at for my upgrade will be either the Key3 or the Pixel 4 XL.

Me too!! I have the Passport with Android installed and I use it more then my iPhone 8 and others I had, like Samsung s9+..The passport turns heads!! im always getting compliments on the passport. It’s so hot! I love the square shape because it’s nothing like it. I say make a passport 2, thinner, bigger screen, and different colors! All you need is a celebrity to show it off and everybody will be back with blackberry! It’s just takes one ☝🏽 celebrity seriously! The security is amazing, no one can hack a blackberry never in history lol!! The best of all times!’

I only left the Blackberry Mansion last year around April, wanted to stay with Blackberry but I just didnt get on with The KeyOne, moved into Apple walled garden because I already had an iPad so I knew the transistion wouldnt be too painful. Honestly, if this had come out last year, Im sure I'd still be with Blackbeery

Very insightful. Most KZbin channels are always talking that there is nothing really new and exciting about phones anymore and they get something like this and then they shit on it like why would you want this when it has this or that worse for the usecases that normal phones excel at. When you want do an objective review you have to look on it a really different way. I for myself still like having nokia phones for the battery life and keyboard and general feel you have about it that doesn't make you want to (or want to have to) use it all day, like a productive feel. I just use it for what i need to do and then I put it away and I'm not thinking about for half day. But I do miss some of the features of android, like maps and messeging apps, or quick way to respond to most important emails anytime and just the general usefulness of the available internet connectivity. After seeing this video it made me look on it like a possible replacement of my not very good mobile setup. (And it does look much more promising than like a nokia 8110 with KaiOS)
@loopymofo6 жыл бұрын

The only thing you miss out on picking this phone is a large screen but you gain so many more features. After a couple of days using this phone you will get use to it, I have the keyOne and despite some lag due to the low ram I would still never go back to an all screen slab.

@abrahkadabra95016 жыл бұрын
One feature that became very useful for me was the Microphone key (on the keyboard). It's a one step way of doing speech to text and the software works well. It works better if you have a good quality Bluetooth earpiece especially in noisy environments. I'm using it more and more as a way of getting messages out quickly as long as the sentences are fairly simple....press the microphone key - say it in any format - send it - done!

Hi John, big fan of your videos, and another nice one here on the B.B. Question: would you recommend the key2 to an iPhone user that loves a tactile keyboard, is in dire need of a productivity ‘handgun’ but has been with iOS for 10 years ?

I have the phone and it is simply amazing. It is indeed, as you rightly mentioned, is a "Productivity Powerhouse". The keyboard is just awesome, emailing and everything else (messaging,twitter,et Al) is a breeze due to Hub and the keyboard.Build quality is exactly what BlackBerry is known for. This phone pretty much goes past even the iPhone in terms of overall Build quality. Amazing, amazing device and it'd be a safe enough statement to make, that BlackBerry has re-arrived.

Good review, though I question why anyone would waste the convenience key on the camera. You can already launch the camera with a double tap of the power button. Yeah, it's one extra button press, but I think that's a fair tradeoff to have the ability to launch 2 different apps instead of one.

This video was great, no in your face sponsor, great review and bias-free info. I just can’t put down 650 on this when the pixel is at that price point, with the XL being that cheap through promotions on Verizon. The one plus 6 is cheaper and you’ve also got the 5t at slightly under that. I would love to have this as a secondary phone for work but for that price i don’t think it would be justified.
@skaterboi656 жыл бұрын

The only reason I wouldn't pick up the key2 is because it does not work fully on Project Fi. I really use my phone for messaging and little else. I've missed blackberry since my passport, and have wanted to go back. I might still pick this phone up, and just pop my sim back in my pixel when I am overseas if the key2 does not work on networks there. I notice you're on Fi, does wifi calling and more importantly, wifi SMS/MMS work on the key2?
