Found an old slave cemetery. No one knew was there. Researching it and have started cleaning it up. Will take time but worth it. Being a 62 year old woman, I'll be slow but determined. Hope some folks around here will help.

Lamont when you 've survived a stroke a blood bacteria and lymphoma cancer like I have you really don't take your life for granted. I really am alive by the grace of God. It's so easy to take things for granted and we forget about all the people who have died from cancer or other things that could've killed us. There are alot of people who have died from what I've survived. Every day is a blessing. Thank God for every day you are alive.

I’m always saddened that their are people who willingly end their own lives, while there are people like Morgan Kottman who are desperate to live, but don’t get to through no fault of their own. More details about a pair of shootings in Topeka. Police now say a 19-year old man shot an eleven-year old boy and then went and turned the gun on himself. Both victims died overnight. 13's Lindsay Shively went back to the neighborhood today. It's a case of unanswered questions.Police say we may never know why 19-year-old Jose Cardona shot 11-year old Aldo Meneses and then took his own life. Jorge Hernandez says a gunshot at his home around 6:30 last night got him out of bed. "When i wake up, i go outside and the little boy was already on the floor." Hernandez says three little boys, including 11-year old Aldo Meneses, were playing outside at 1916 SE Michigan. That's when 19-year old Jose Cardona and a friend pulled up in their car, and the boys came up to their window. From there, neither police nor Hernandez know how or why the gun went off, killing Aldo."There's really apparently no motives here...there's some facts that we're probably never going to know." "He tried to play to them with a gun and that's not right." Police say they do believe alcohol was a factor. The driver of the car told police the shooting was an accident, and fifteen minutes later, in the passenger seat...Cardona shot himself in the head. Meneses and Cardona were pronounced dead at local hospitals. A situation that has this neighbor, a mother herself, worried. "It just makes me wonder because that could have been my son." Hernandez told us Cardona frequented his home a lot, and one of Cardona's younger brothers had been with Meneses when it happened.

I went to school with his sister. This is the nicest family. The family needs justice. This is why I always told my kids not to go to these all white parties in the rural areas in Kansas. This isn't the first time strange things have happened to people of color at these parties, but nothing like what happened to Zo. Unsolved Mysteries did a story last year...and btw the kids in the town are talking online, but nothing that would significant and it doesn't seem like the Linn Co. authorities want to follow up but want to just go away.

Crazy that you were in my home town. Even more crazy that the first person's grave you showed was my dad's good friend JC Spiker. He told me that the headstone is wrong. He was born in 1958 instead of 1968. The car pictured on the stone is his red 1969 Chevelle that he raced with my dad, uncle, and friends. He passed away on the operating table from the anesthesia. He went under to remove a cancerous lymph node or something of the sort.

Dear Lamar at Large, At one time living across from the cemetery I would spend hours and hours and hours walking through there looking at people's names and wondering my dad died from maybe even making up little stories in my head you know back then there was no internet no nothing. Everyone thought that I was odd because I could just spend hours there and I really like doing it I really did and I would talk to the headstones which now I'm sure you're saying oh my gosh you are really weird but it just made me feel better gave me peace of mind. now that I found your KZbin channel if what you do this is my favorite I'm watching it all the time thank you for first of all knowing that I'm not the only one out there that enjoys it I'd better lack of words maybe I'm not so weird thank you, Connie Long

Just read about that Cardona guy. Sounds like a messed up situation. From what they said it sounded like he accidentally shot someone and then turned the gun on himself. So sad.

@Crystals Texas Randomness VERY strange that he'd have a gun around a child and--even more disturbing--that he'd even WANT to impress an 11-year-old child in the first place. I think this guy was a bit "off. "
