I had one healthy boy and was never able to have more and I thank God daily for him. Now he has given me a grand daughter. Or maybe, just maybe, they named the other son David in honor of the dead son.

I grew up living in the same neighborhood as the Vetters. My brother went to school with his sister. Despite his restrictions, David was a fairly normal, happy child. His parents were very sweet & loving people. I still live in the area & there’s a. street named after him very close to my house.

As tragic as this boys life was, with a deficiency like that he was lucky to have experienced life in literally any way and even though he was only 12 years old when he died that may have been a short lifespan but for a person with that kind of deficiency it was a pretty impressive lifespan.
