Sweet machine and awesome video. The shot from above the blade is sweet. Cool set up for a D8 to, I don’t think I have ever seen one before with LGP tracks and No ripper.
@Blackearthexcavationandtiling10 жыл бұрын
Thanks! You liked that shot?! I, the wife, do all the camera stuff usually and never know what you equipment guys are going to like! I threw in that video above the blade (or some of it) and thought it was interesting but almost took it out thinking people might find it boring! Glad you liked it. Yes, the D8 LGP is not common; I believe the CAT Dealer said it was 2% of their D8 sales. My husband likes it a lot. No ripper because he purchased a 621 scraper for it. The 621 was an entire self run unit that was professional converted, so it looks like a new scraper built with a hitch. He has also used the D8 to pull his Big G Disk.

BLACK EARTH EXCAVATION Yea, I don’t know if most people like the different shots like that but whenever I have the chance I try to film stuff like that to. Do you have any video of the 621 yet, I would love to see that.

Glad to know another person likes the different shots. I definitely like having different views or I get bored. Yes, there are a few videos from last year of the 621 but it is on the tractor as opposed to the D8. If you go to the main page, there is that little magnifying glass, next to the "home, playlists, about" links and you can click on it and search "621" or the links are below : kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmnTqGubdtV6hLs kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGrJl6mXqM6ajNE kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGqqfn6YjL19hrs

So I figured out how to share the "Scraper" playlist. Here is a list of the scraper stuff my husband has done or has had over the years. kzbin.info/aero/PL-F3dN7fNjs-XVPfXxd6QBaEJtull2dG6

Getting on a big tree or stump really test your HP in your dozer if you ask me.

Why would you want all the top soil pushed up into someplace that it will never be used again?
@alvie210 жыл бұрын
so you don't save your topsoil?
@Blackearthexcavationandtiling10 жыл бұрын
I asked my husband the same thing! Typically, yes; however, this area had the same dirt on top as it did below. So moving the dirt from the top and saving it, to just push up the same thing that is below, would have been useless in this location.

Can not imagine soil like that, that deep. In hill country. It's like endless topsoil. Here in my part of the south. The hills are all red clay. Will grow grass. Not much good for anything else. Well, it makes good brick.

the point of terracing is to make better use of a slope and managing the water runoff. What's the point here on such flat terrain??? I guess not agriculture, eh?
@thechunder7 жыл бұрын
Land with any slope at all, even a very small one, can benefit from water catching earthworks such as terraces.
