When tank is cleansing debuffs during Aku'mai, the elementals have an aura that regens a lot of mana. Healers should take note of it. When the adds spawn there is a knockback with minor damage so you automatically get removed from the green aoe

Hi there! My guild and I would really like to know more about this as we are struggling with mana for this fight. I can't seem to find any mention of this anywhere besides your comment on this video. Few questions: Are you talking about the little elementals that spawn from the cleanse, or the big ones after they turn green? or both? Is the aura just something you need to be within range of the elementals to receive, or something you click on, or is it like a visual on the ground that you stand in? and does this aura deal damage or apply a debuff in addition to the mana regen? thank you for sharing this!

Correction on Gelihast: Curse and fear are actually related mechanics. In phase 1, it's just a curse, in phase 2 the fear is triggered by dispel, and in phase 3, the fear is triggered by dispel, but also the curse spreads to nearby targets on dispel, like Lich King's Necrotic Plague, but aoe.

Kelris' mind blast always targets the closest player to him, not his target. Having players use minor magic resistance pot before pull and a shadow protection pot sub 35% makes the fight trivial

​@@MrSoapertyou need a tank for p1 but it doesnt have to be a "tank" preferably itd just any melee with high threat. The casts go through armor so no real reason why a shield is necessary, and if you spam kick him he will melee but the melee dmg he puts out is extremely low. Can even tank those melees as a rogue in full leather. So yeah. And p2 you just have the resist tank tank the blasts

@@MrSoapert best person to have tank it imo would be a lock with shadow res but warr is really good too since they need a shield to interrupt anyways, you can have pallies bubble and stand right under the boss to eat mindblast casts in p2 if things get sketchy

A note for Kelris: When he sends the final set to sleep, if you push him over 35% while they're still sleeping they get brought back but since they didn't take the portal they get killed by Dream Eater 5 seconds later. Halt DPS around 38% if that's the case and let them get their portal out.

hey man, we are struggling on kelris, for some reason that I just can't figure out, all melees just get rekt in P2 (35%hp) is there a way to mitigate the damage coming it? because the range DPS are not having an issue at all. or must it just be counter healed?

free action potion will stop the slow, and also the dmg, from being applied. Also you can druid shift out of the dot/slow, as well as use the rank2 pvp trinket on it. all of these will reduce the outgoing dmg.

Thanks for this guide! I'm playing priest as well for the first time in WoW and plan on healing, may I ask what add-ons you are using to make your interface look like this? It seems like the best setup to distinguish everyone in your raid.

He is using elvui, a full interface mod and maybe also shadowed unit frames for the frames. Also you can make your raid frames Look like this with the Standard interface, even the class colors.

One correction, Kelris' mind blast is not single target, it's a frontal cone, which also hits anyone in his hitbox (even if behind him), melee need to make sure to be at max melee range to avoid taking lot of unnecessary damage.

It’s not number of kills, when you fall asleep his shadow runs to one pillar, it is VERY hard to see, but if you see it that is where you need to kill the priestess for the portal to spawn anything else is just luck and if you miss it you just have to kill randomly.

I don't think Sleep targets the closest enemies, though maybe it was bugged and got hotfixed since. When I ran it I randomly got slept in the back of the ranged group as a lock with pretty much everyone else being closer to him.

it does its just that the sleep can affect you only once per fight, so when every close target already have been inside a dream it will target next people closest, meaning that it just increases range, thats why first it targets tanks, then melee, then casters

Something I noticed about Akumai as a resto shaman. Even with no debuff on me water shield charges will randomly trigger for no apparent reason. I have to reapply it several times in the fight. While a bit annoying it does return a significant chunk of mana. No clue why it happens.

some people claim killing the invading nightmares reduce Kelris' damage in p2, but I haven't been able to find evidence of this. he certainly doesn't get any visible buffs or anything like that, and it doesn't feel like the damage is any different, can anyone confirm or deny this part?

No it only picks a direction and then sticks to it once it's being cast. Should be easy to dodge.

For Aku'mai if you have a paladin tank let them use divine shield this will allow the stacks to fall off.

You mean Divine Protection? As Divine Shield is level 32 ability.

I can confirm for the Corrosion stacks. We swapped out a rogue tank with a 2nd pally tank. The off-tank took 4 stacks, bubbled, I taunted, took 4 stacks, bubble-canceled bubble, taunted, and took 4 more stacks before cleansing. Only one set of adds that way. Not always going to have 2 pally tanks available but for us, ours was a second healer, was not specced for heals, and our main healer was a god so overall it worked fine.

Ignoring Jetts totems is really bad advice for bad pugs, not once have I had a pug manage to clear him with only killing the lightning totem. Fight is way easier and less hectic if you just kill all the totems when they spawn.

Priest here, mad jealous of your Kelris fight, spent 3 hours wiping last night. One time 6 people got debuffed simultaneously in phase 2, and i have something like 20 dispels during the fight. How do you reduce the amount of people that get hit with that? Hardly anyone is getting debuffed in your gameplay there. Thanks for the vid, really needed to see another priest pov.

Correction on Ghamoo’ra: the debuff he applies to the tank doesn’t increase the damage taken by that tank by 25% per stack, it reduces their armor by 25% per stack. But your solution still applies: tank swap at 2 stacks.

You didn't mention on Kelris the boss casts Mind Blast on the 2nd threat and it splashes. Have the OT stand separate from everyone else.

Nice Guide, its very informative. Kelris is sadly tuned too hard and to reliant on team comp. Casters do half the damage and having no dispell available is making the Boss pretty impossible. The Video is a good example. 2 Priests and 6 physical DPS. Just remove his magic resist and let casters do full dmg.

it's a huge oversight from blizzard that horde have only 1 class capable of dealing with the DoT, the whole shtick of SoM is to add more viability to all classes by letting them cover more roles... but if you're horde you still 100% HAVE to bring a priest. this has resulted in every single pug spamming LFG for hours on end looking for a priest since demand>supply

One important detail regarding Twilight Lord Kelris, his uninterruptible Mind Blast in P2 always hits the person second on the aggro table.

Kelris' sleep isnt closest people to him, had a healer and a caster get sent down a couple times

I've tested this extensively and it absolutely is, however there is a cooldown on when you can get sent, so once you've gone down you're ineligible for a while so it will pick the next two closest.
