Couldn't Greg T. and Charlie find a better singer than Bobby Barth? Simply dreadful. Never liked Jay Johnson but he shines here. I can completely understand why Rick Medlock shut these guys down.

I got to see Blackfoot back in 1982, with their original line up as Medlocke, Walker, Hargrett, and Spires. I remember when they played "Highway Song" everybody converged to the stage it was like one huge family. It was awesome to feel the love, Rock on ..

That's how rock n' roll should be played. Loud, raw and from the heart. Like many, I am a huge Rickey Medlocke fan. However, I enjoy good music for what it is. Charlie, Greg, and the guys who labored in the trenches have my respect.

This is one of the best live versions of this song. And you don't need Rick Medlocke to be a band. This kicks it properly. Rickey is over jammin' his arse off with Skynyrd and that's cool. This was great.

Jay Johnson’s dad owns Muscle Shoals recording studio where Blackfoot, Skynard, Molly Hatchet, 38 Special and a host of other southern rockers recorded. That’s how he got these gigs.

Wow, I did NOT know BOBBY BARTH sang for a version of Blackfoot- I "know" Bobby from AXE \m/ \m/ Some GREAT tunes they put out but didn't last due to one of the guys killed in a motorcycle wreck, if memory serves me; Saw them I THINK in '83, El Paso TX, they opened for Cheap Trick, and I thought blew them away! I had already bought a Cheap trick t-shirt and as soon as AXE was done I went straight to the merch table to see a couple of the guys were out there already, and I told them how great I thought their set was, and asked if I could TRADE a Cheap Trick shirt for one of THEIRS, and one of the guys nodded to the merch guy and I got an AXE shirt - been to what must be 1000+ shows, and THAT is still one of my favorite memories. Thanks, Bobby, for keepin on rockin \m/ \m/

I've got something to say about all this 'no Ricky = no Blackfoot' hate. I've been a southern rock fan and musician for over 40 years and Blackfoot is still one of my favorites. So Medlock goes and joins Skynyrd, so what? Does that mean Charlie Hargrett and Jackson Spires can't perform anymore without him? Both have earned their place and shouldn't be denied the chance to make a living and entertain all of their fans. There's no argument from me that Ricky is a great vocalist and synonymous with Blackfoot songs, but how can you deny Charlie and Jackson from keeping the music alive, especially since Ricky gives them his blessing? I had the honor of playing with Charlie a couple times in small jams and I have to say he's one of the most dedicated guitarist and performers. There's no logical reason why he shouldn't be able play his music along side band mate Jackson Spires under the 'Blackfoot name. Both have more than earned the right. It's their passion, we're lucky we can still enjoy the live performances.
