This song is a prequel to #Insane and explores Alastor’s (semi-cannon) origin story! As many of you may know, I was the singing voice of #Alastor in the #HazbinHotel pilot, and it felt only fitting to hire Luximus (known for her work on #HelluvaBoss) to animate this music video! We’re very happy with how this one turned out, and we hope you enjoy it!

I absolutely love the idea that Alastor when alive wore shoes with deer hoof marks on the soles. Because when he murders people it wouldn’t leave a normal shoe print, but deer prints instead, making it seem that the killer had somehow not left their prints at all, and that some deer just eventually approached the body (deer will approach carcasses to nibble on them and for their bones, as it’s free nourishment). This ended up eventually backfiring because hunters ended up tracking those “deer prints”, leading to them shooting Alastor thinking he was a deer from it being dark, a secluded place where people aren’t usually there, and him being far away.

1:27 I liked this part. The yellow character was running full speed away and Alastor was only walking. It didn’t make sense to me on how he would catch up with him at first, but now I like to imagine that Alastor was only walking because he had possibly placed bear traps around the shed, so he would be the only one to know where they’re hidden. This would explain why he’s so calm about the yellow character’s sprinting (: just thought that would be a cool concept. We never see yellow’s feet after this, either.

Fun fact: humans are endurance predators, meaning they slowly followed prey until it was too tired to run more, so Alastor is just doing something ancient humans did, waiting for him to wear himself out.

In fact, it's also a pretty big slasher movie stereotype: the victims are running, the slasher is pretty far behind and walking, and all of a sudden, you'll see the slasher catching up on its victims (or even already in front of them) while still walking, not even looking exhausted at all. Pretty much a way to accentuate the fact that Destiny cannot be avoided. The best examples for that are Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees.

I know part of Alastor’s lore is that he was a famous radio host! So it’s possible that while the guy doesn’t personally know him, that he knows of him and was willing to go with him in hopes of going on air with him as a “guest star” Probably how he lured a lot of his victims. Promising a spot on his show, but instead ended up getting hunted down in the woods by a psycho with an ax.

I love how you made the victim so immediately likable and innocent. While I’m not opposed to glamorizing fictional serial killers (one of my favorite shows is NBC Hannibal lol), I think the trope of serial killers only killing really bad people is overdone. I can 100% see Alestor being this charming serial killer. He just always had that vibe of, you know he is evil, but you also cannot help but be enchanted by him. Like you don't fully trust him, but something about him makes you feel happy, and one day, you let your guard down, and that moment will be your last. Edit: Also, I forgot to mention that I love it when his victim runs away after realizing who Alestor is, and he's just casually walking as if he has all the time in the world. He knows he won't get away; they never do.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who thought this. In fact, I've been imagining Fluttershy singing this, showing an unique ability to be approachable outside of her usual shyness when it's for the purposes of adding to her body count. The line "where the sun don't shine" could be used in reference to Celestia, if she's managed to evade her eyes or if she's finally caught and put away for her crimes.
