Finally!!! Someone with some with legit Gospel organ skills demoing the SK1. Tonewise, my only nitpick about the instrument is the built-in rotary simulation. It still doesn't quite nail the complexity and punch of a well-maintained Leslie. OTOH when you consider that many churches have beat-up, abused, and poorly maintained Hammond/Leslie's, buying SK-1 complete with pedals and amplification is probably a good idea. Plus, its a lot easier to transport than the real thing. Thank you so much for posting this, its just what I've been waiting to hear.

At 11:55 when he blends the Rhodes sound with the Hammond sound while playing 'I Surrender All'...that did it for me. Just a beautiful sounding and beautifully played passage. Kudos to you...

Tiny computer speakers on a desktop or the small speaker out of a smart phone, does not do this even near a justice. Luckily, I happened to first seek this out in a subject search and listen to it the other day, when I had wired my iPhone up to my living room stereo-- which has large excellent speakers with which to capture the bass. The sad thing is, I could see people listening to this on a small setup and passing it up in under 5 seconds, simply because they can't hear the beauty of the bass pedals! So if you're hearing this on a small speaker set up, and thinking, "not much going on here", do yourself a favor and take the extra minute or two to listen to it through a large stereo setup. You'll be glad you did. This guy is fantastic on pedal bass, and you're robbing yourself of the full experience and missing out on something nice if you don't. That's all I'll say.

Sorry, I tell my son to stop jamming and play something recognizable : ))... But I love your touch and the way you put those odd notes with reg chords. I would love for you to record some old fashioned hymns to play before church service.... something soft while people enter quietly into prayer and reading their Bibles before the service starts. We dont believe in any socializing before the service, once the people enter into the sanctuary. Please consider it. It would be beautiful !! Thank you kindly.

So I'm going to presume you're using the optional pedal board on this? The sheer depth you're getting is just amazing!
How does the pedal set up work? Do you plug it into the midi inout on the organ itself? Anything required after that?

I cut my chops on "real" Hammonds (A, B, etc) back in the 60s and 70s, carting around up to two "real" Leslie cabinets on gigs. As various manufacturers' attempts at recreating the B3 sound and more importantly (and more evasive), an accurate Leslie effect, I continued to purchase--and be disappointed with--the various "new technology" hitting the market. All that has changed, IMO, in the last 3 years with the Hammond SK1 keyboard, which beyond just duplicating the drawbar tones of the original Hammonds, has finally captured--at least for an on-board piece of hardware--a very respectable Leslie effect, that for all intents and purposes, replaces ever having to haul around the real thing. And, if you want to go a step further to realism, pick up a Neo Ventilator Mini Vent for $300 that simulates the Leslie with even more accuracy and there's NO reason whatsoever to hang on to the fact that the only real Hammond and Leslie combinations have to come from that 50+ year old equipment that you either own, or are considering purchasing.

I've had everything from (what was left of) a model A, to a BC, B2, 2 B3s, RT3, X66 and dozens of spinets and at least a dozen real Leslies. I still have 4 real Leslies. I'm reasonably happy now to play imaginary Hammonds and make believe Leslies. they don't sound as good, but they're a lot smaller, lighter and don't require as much maintenance.
