Blackhawks to Host the 2025 Winter Classic

The Blackhawks back will be at the center of the hockey world on New Years Day 2025 as they play host at the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field in the 2025 Winter Classic. They will be facing off against the St Louis Blues for the 2nd time in the Winter Classic. The last time these 2 teams met was in the NHL outdoor game in St Louis in 2017.

TV viewership may have been down at this year’s Winter Classic partly due to the game being on TNT, NBC ratings were much higher. Fun fact, out of all the Winter Classic games held at baseball stadiums Seattle had the most in attendance. I also agree with you on seating. The higher up the better, don’t sit lower. It was my first time going to one in Seattle and my wife and I were in the lower portion. Still fun to be a part of though. Congrats to you Nick on your team being selected to be a participant and especially at Wrigley Field. …errr…hope they don’t go 0-5 in the marquee game.

I always thought if the Hawks hosted another outdoor game, they’d host it at Guaranteed Rate Field or Memorial Stadium in Champaign. Ah well, cool to see them get another one.

I understand why it's back in Wrigley since it prints money also Guarantee Rate Field doesn't give that cash say that Wrigley history has.

@@WindyCityHawkey Yeah that’s true, they do want to print the big bucks. I just would’ve figured the Hawks or the NHL would’ve given other stadiums in the Chicago market a chance. Also just bias on my part.

Well that is good news maybe a year early but thats ok and I agree they should have a few new faces on the team next year some more young guys and Wrigley is a good spot !!!

Dead Wings are in the Stadium Series next year. I'm glad it's not them or another Original 6 team. It can't be the same teams over and over every year.
