I took a trip to BC up from Washington state in the winter of 2022. I had about 250 hours of AP blackjack under my belt at that point. No back offs in about 20 hours but I did notice the PEN at most shops in BC wasn’t great, Lucky to get over 50%.

Nice ! You are accurate - it’s wildly different between dealers . One will be like 5%pen and only leave a few cards while the next is 50% . I’ll sometimes even get up to eat or walk around when the 50% PeN dealer shows up

Counting a pitch game seems extra challenging. 11v10 with no hole card is supposed to be a hit. Did you double because you were at +3?

Its an acquired skill. Your right a little more difficult but slower pace of play helps. You know your stuff ! - I doubled as any 11 v 10 with +2 or better count should double as per this games set up. Hope to chat further in the future with you.

Double deck might be easier to count because there is more time handling the cards but not as fast a game means less EV

What is your process for counting a pitch game? Do you just wait for the dealer to expose every hand at the end of the round? Having practiced for months on a 6 deck game I struggled a bit on a double deck pitch game the first few times

what is your risk with this bet spread? With an equivalent of one hand of $200 at a true 5, you are betting 2% of your bankroll which is a full Kelly. Wouldn’t this give you about 13% ROR?

ROR i calculated at 10.6%, keep in mind the REAL bankroll is $170,000+ as explained in the video but this was an adventure from 10-100k for the new counters out there but i should highlight more often that the RoR is too high for a first timer. Ill keep that message in mind moving forward.

Great question - I should of clarified on the video as i bet lots of people will wonder. With my other Advantage friends there is always a debate whether we start increasing our bets at TC 1 or 2. I sided with TC 1 only because it’s more consistent and more optimal, as my friends says TC 1 is better because you’d be missing out on EV by the time you get to TC 2, especially in a double deck, even with a conservative bet spread. Usually double deck TC1 advantage is around .02. Its very small but technically you have the edge but at TC2 it increases to around .6 which is very significant so you have a "TRUE" advantage.

It’s funny . Totally dealer dependent which means they train horribly . One dealer will go WAY deep like .25 of a deck left in double deck while the next will go 1 deck deep . Zero consistency. Obviously I sit out for the deep cutters or take bathroom breaks
