The way Barry Darsow tells this story is that Andre grabbed Mulligan and threw him through the glass door with one hand. To give one an idea of Andre's incredible strength, long-time fans know how enormous Mulligan was.

i was in florida after a match in palatka florida -stopped at a 7-11 after the match ,dusty was there in his red pickumup truck and black jack was in the store getting a 12 pack ,i stood in line behind him ,the man was massive but seemed like a nice guy ,my gf was outside getting dustys autograph -then they were off to party i guess

When I was about 7 wrestling came to the local arena. My mom and dad would take me early to try for autographs. This little Japanese car pulls up and all of a sudden, the biggest man I had ever saw emerged from the driver side, Swede Hanson, then an even bigger man got out of the passenger side, Blackjack Mulligan I was petrified They opened the trunk and he put on his cowboy hat and they grabbed their bags. Never got the autographs scary dudes lol

I used to work at the Capitol Centre in Landover MD. I saw Black Jack pick up Andre and body slam him. It was 83 or 84. The crowd could not believe what they saw.

An old wrestling pamphlet had Don Leo vs Andre. It read 6'9" vs 7'4." Don Leo was really 6'6" but he was still big enough so that Andre didn't tower over him like most people.

Yeah, Kevin Nash himself said he was at the most 6'10" in his prime. Never 7'0" like they said he was. I'm thinking Andre might have been 7'0" at the most at one time.

From my research Andre’s peak height was around 7’1. WWE adds 2-3 inches to their big men. I remember they had Kane at 7’, Undertaker at 6’10, Big show at 7’2.

Bob Windham (AKA Blackjack Mulligan), the first generation wrestler. His son is Barry Windham. His grandsons are Uncle Howdy and the late Bray Wyatt (even though they are sons of Mike Rotunda). Lived to be 73 years old, although I don't believe he was 500 pounds at the time of his death.

I believe most of the story. But Mulligan wanted that fight as much as Andre. Mulligan had a reputation for "trying" tough guys in wrestling. Especially if he was drunk. On the other side, fighting or standing up to Andre would get Andre's respect.

The story I heard was told differently before I heard this. They said Blackjack punched Andre for no reason really during cards. They didn't say that Andre was antagonizing him all night and then challenged him to a fight. So it wasn't like Blackjack was just being a bully. Andre was the bully and picked a fight with a man who stood up for himself.

Loved Black Jack and watched him all the way back to when I was probably eight years old or even younger. I could imagine him and Andre drinking & fighting. One of the old wrestlers said Andre once knocked Mulligan and another big man out in a fight one time. Heard of Jack knocking Ole Anderson out, too. Those old school guys were legit MEN. You know, it may have been Dick Murdoch I was thinking of. That guy strong as an ox, too.

Blackjack Mulligan was beaten and even thrown out of a window by Andre. In the 1970s Leo Jonathan challenged André on the ring and André broke Jonathan's leg. Leo stops wrestling for months because of that match... and leo was taller than 6'6. Blackjack is in Iron Sheik's team. Unloved and beaten by Andre so now they bash him. I met Andre in quebec in 1972, he was a gentleman except if you were an asshole.
