Man how I loved and miss the 70s wrestling days...NO MUSIC, NO DUMB-ASS GIMMICKS, NO BIG STAGE SHOWS WERE NEEDED TO FILL SEATS.. JUST REAL GREAT WRESTLERS THAT WERE TRULY TOUGH AND DIDN'T MIND BLEEDING A LOT!!! I grew up in Dothan Alabama. Southeastern Championship Wrestling w/Ron Fuller, Bob Armstrong, Robert Fuller, Jimmy Golden, Arn Anderson & Jerry Stubbs who were the Southeastern Tag Team Champs a lot, The Wrestling Pro, Dick Dunn, Don Carson Austin Idol, Joe LeDuc Ronny Garvin Terry "Bam-Bam"Gordy, Michael P.S.HAYES...and on & on were there in the 70s. Ox Baker, Hulk Hogan a.k.a.(Terry The Hulk Bolder) Ed Bolder a.k.a.(Brutus The Barber Beefcake) Andre The Giant, Terry Funk, Dirty Dutch Mantell, Harley Race, RIC Flair was in Dothan for a few months also. Houston Co.Farm Center was an old fashioned red dirt floor and every Friday night it was sold out. These WRESTLERS never come to the ring w/music...just the fans either cheering or booing when they walked out. There will never be a decade of wrestling to compare. Some of my best childhood memories were there w/my dad and my best friends. CHILLBUMPS!!!! At the end of the night you could walk right up to them...babyfaces or heels and they would always have time to talk to fans... Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk. Ox Baker were 4 of the nicest, most well mannered, fan loving guys I ever got to meet...I remember them really taking a lot of time with OLDER fans like my grandpa and small kids. Just my opinion from a REAL WRESTLING OLD SCHOOL LOVING FAN THAT WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND NEVET FORGET THESE DAYS... THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES AND THE REMINISCING TEARS GUYS... MUCH LOVE FROM MOBILE ALABAMA.
