Prayers this evening for your buddy, Chad and his newborn son. 🙏Hopefully all goes well tomorrow with the surgery. I just can't imagine.😢 I am in your boat where a 3/4 on a Rockwell is enough so I imagine I would be a 1 on this Blackland's safety plate, which I would not be happy with because I wouldn't feel I was getting my moneys worth plus the blade tabs. Yikes! A cool shave comparison might be with the OG Gem. Imho🙂👊

Congrats on the 1st anniv. on YT. Best of health to your extended family. Happy birthday to your daughter. I needed to replace my blade on my DE and thought, why not experiment and add another shim to the one I installed after watching your video. The improvement was so drastic, the razor became quiet, the smoothness, efficiency and just about every aspect improved (coincidently, is the x3 factor of a GEM compared to regular DE)...It's probably down to the angle, gap and the pressure grasping the cutting blade, providing more rigidness to a larger area of the blade.
