I ended up with this very razor after trying to get, per your recommendations, the Rocca. My first shave on 4 days growth was very pleasant. While it needs to be washed off more frequently than my open comb razor, it feels quieter and safer. The efficiency of this razor is very impressive and I bet the tight tolerances took some time and effort to perfect. I doubt I'll be looking for another razor any time soon but I'll keep watching your videos.

@aovint63 the rocca is a great one. Yes more rinsing than an OC but I bet it rinses easier than most closed combs. My buddy said it best. Thanks for the review. I’m waiting for my Muhle Rocca R96 to arrive. Rockwell T2 ss is my daily driver and works great for head shaving. I have Yates 921-H Plate and finally tried it for head shave with 6 days of growth. I was nervous of cutting myself due to positive blade feel but it worked out fine. I have Alpha outlaw evolution but haven’t use it yet. Perhaps in the future, can you compare Alpha Outlaw evolution vs Muhle Rocca?

Funny, I compared those same razors (bronze 'Merica vs bronze and SS Overlanders). For me, the Overlander cane out far in front of the 'Merica, which left me like I went a few rounds with Tyson in his prime. Nothing has beaten the Overlander; including the Rockwell 6S (a close second), Feather AS-D2 ( which I used 10+ years), Rex Envoy, Apex AL, Timeless AL, Jagger DE89, and Merkur Futur. Great videos and comparisons. I like that you actually try to pick a winner each time.

Congrats on the 100th!! I wasn’t a fan of how this business shut down happened especially with some people already waiting over 6 months for their razors. I also thought the blaming of an employee in the email was in poor choice. All of this should’ve been caught prior to people waiting months for their order. While I agree shutting down the website was a good idea, it happened too late and left their customers waiting for months. I do know it was asked that people not cancel their orders but when is enough simply enough. Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone so I’m glad this ended and hopefully whomever carries on the business will keep their customers in the forefront.

@ I wouldn’t think that will happen but regardless I’m let down for those who have had their money tied up for months. When you or I do that, it’s called a loan that we have to pay back with interest. Then there’s the fact that when they do receive their razor and have issues who do they call? This “last run” may by done in haste and QC issues may occur. Either way, it’s just poor business and probably best they are getting out.

Is a slant razor really that better for your skin and neck area when having sensitieve skin? Is it safe to do a J hook move with buffing (dont think so). Btw how many days of growth was this? Cheers mate!
@Stubblemeetssteel
@Stubblemeetssteel 16 күн бұрын
@shabdiscoo simple answer no. It’s a gimmick I don’t really find slant razors have any benefit or advantages over non slants. For me the best razors for my sensitive neckline are very mild razors I can buff(go over same area many times). Goodfellas styletto, alpha shave dad, Karve overlander, Aylsworth apex are my favorites for mild. Goodfellas syntesi is very nice too. Any of those I can go over my neck many times if needed and get no irritation at all. I’ve tried using more aggressive razors but they often irritate my neck before it gets BBS I shaved the day before here. I get 5 o’clock shadow & shave after work. I’ve only mildy J hooked. Honestly I just don’t remember to do it. I’m not sure if u can as much with a slant or not.

@Stubblemeetssteel 15 күн бұрын
@yascyt thank you for the compliment! Ironically this was a bowl lather which I honestly don’t do a lot of! I do have a face lather tutorial but not a bowl lather video. Regardless of bowl or face lather I use roughly 1/4 teaspoon of soap. For a face lather I scoop into a smooth SS bowl to load the brush. I find I get the best brush load this way & no worry of water in my soap tubs. I prefer to shake brush 3 times. I want it pasty! If face lathering I will add water very slowly to the brush just so I can pickup all the soap from the bowl. I don’t want it runny or sudsy at all! I may add water to the brush 2-3 times to be able to soak up all the soap in the bowl. Then I go to the face pasty and just slowly add water until it pops and I feel the slickness come out. for a bowl lather I use same 1/4 teaspoon. Shake brush 3 times. I just slowly keep adding water until soap hits the volume I’m after. I have noticed when bowl lathering once u get the right amount of water the density suddenly changes and u feel more resistant in the brush. That’s when u nailed it perfectly when that resistance feeling happens. I find each soap takes different amount of water. Each brush seems to yield different results as well. Some brush’s seem to make for a better face or bowl lather. Best advise I can give is always start very pasty and dry. Slowly add water & u CAN’T go wrong. I also find softer brushes with great splay and lather release makes making great lathers much easier. Natural hair brushes that hog all the lather or stiff backbone brush’s that don’t spray well always make me work much harder for much less results.
